Great Options and Helpful Staff

Although hot pot is known for their meats, Chengdu Memory is incredibly accommodating for vegans. All the soups have a meat base, including the mushroom, BUT you can request it with a water base instead. Additionally, waiters will double check and ask you if you have any dietary restrictions ALONG with the menu having a dietary restriction option! I’d recommend Chengdu because of how helpful the staff are and the abundance of tofu and veggie options.

Pros: Helpful Staff, Plenty of tofu and veggie options

Cons: Wait times can be long during peak hours

Yummy

We had never had a hot pot before, but the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful and walked us through how to order, which is done online from the table. The hot pot was huge, and I’d recommend coming with a few friends to get a better variety since the broth is the main cost and each addition is separate. We got the tomato base, which was really flavorful and had chunks of ginger, tomato slices and goji berries. We added bean curd skin (yuba) and glass noodles. I would have loved to add other things, but the broth plus two add ins was close to $25 for two people. Go in a group of four, get all the things and have fun!

Pros: Very friendly staff and fast service, Lots of vegan options / near the train, A huge pot of broth that’s heated at the table.

Cons: Menu is a little complicated to navigate. , Pricey for 1 or 2 people

Good food but doesn’t mark vegan options

You’ll need to ask what’s vegan here if you’re not familiar with the menu. I highly recommend the frozen tofu and bean curd stick since they absorb the broth really well.
