Sehr schönes Ambiebte - Edit
Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und hat auch meinen nicht-veganen Freunden geschmeckt! Das Restaurant hebt sich mit seinem Angebot nicht von den meisten anderen asiatisch-vietnamesischen Restaurants ab.

Das Chay gehört zu meinen Standardadressen bei jedem Hamburgbesuch (meist sogar die erste Anlaufstation nach der Ankunft in HH). Leckeres vietnamesisches Essen zu einem günstigen Preis. Egal ob Suppe, Udon oder Sushi - es schmeckt immer.

Very tasty food!! We had the Pagoda dream and Buddha Roll. And tap water that we had to pay for... Especially the Buddha rolls were very good together with the sauce it came with. Lovely place with nice staff and vegan books laying around. There were a couple places to sit outside wich was nice in the heat. We got the food very quickly! But the toilets were binary gendered and the soap had honey in it (not vegan...).

So many choices, so many flavors, so nice interiors, so nice staff! We sat at a small table outside and it was a pretty noisy road, and it smelled like pee from the walls. And the toilets were gendered 😕 and there was honey in the soap.

Food was great, service a little cold, not that friendly. We had the spring rolls which were yum, tofu cubes were great and a spicy curry which was really good. I forgot to take photos.

Warning - they charge for tap water! - Edit
I had a very nice starter, a convincing dessert and a decent main course.. but the whole experience was ruined by them charging me 3.50 euros for the water, though when they asked if I wanted still or sparkling I clearly said "tap water". And hey, if you don't serve tap water then say so, but doing things this way just feels underhanded and dishonest.
