Vegan café in a quietened part of Cologne's Südstadt. Great variety of options for all kinds of different beverages as well as paninis, bagels, baked goods and more. I was particularly impressed with all the different types of cold & hot drinks they offer. While doubling as a confectionery, one will also find a good selection of cakes that look very pretty. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed. Will have to come back to try more : )

The waitress speaks very good English and recommended so special items on the menu. The banana bread is especially delicious but overall the food is great.

The variety of offered breakfasts is just outstanding. They have a lot of cakes, some pastries, paninis, sandwiches. Everything that I tried was very tasty. I wouldn't mind to visit Cologne again, only just to visit this café!

I had the carrot salmon bagel as well as the caramel latte with cream on top and both were super delicious. The bagel absolutely exceeded my expectations.
Read moreI like that they have such a large variety in both their drinks and food, because a lot of all-vegan cafés I've been to have a rather small selection.
Prices are what is to be expected of that kind of café in that kind of location. The portion sizes were fine.
Definitely will be going again!

After many people recommended that restaurant to me I went there on the weekend for breakfast for the first time. The cafe was really busy but there were still enough tables left since they offer indoor and outdoor seating. There was only one waitress taking the orders outside, so it took a while until we could place our order. My breakfast arrived pretty quickly but even after I had finished mine, my friends breakfast still wasn't coming and we started wondering. After 10 more minutes had passed we asked the waitress and she confirmed that she forgot about his order. She was really sorry and gave us a piece of cake for free so we forgot about that incident pretty quickly.
Read moreI had the Karottenlachs Bagel which had a slightly fishy taste but not in a scary way that you get reminded of salmon too much. The cashew cheese and mayo as spreads were super tasty and were the perfect allrounder for that dish. The bagel was pretty big and filling.
My friend had the Räuchertofu Keese vegan which comes with Räuchertofu, salad, tomato, mini pickles, mayo and cheese. I didn't have a bite but my friend loved it.
I also had the peanut banana milk which tasted a little too much like peanut butter than like banana. It was still good.
The cakes we had all tasted excellent too. I'll definitely come more often from now on.

I went here for afternoon tea. The atmosphere was very chill and the waitresses were very friendly and kind. I had a piece of Apfelkuchen (3,70€) and chai latte (4,50€). It all tested very well. I stayed until they closed and as I was leaving a waitress gave me some pastries that they hadn't been able to sell. Super nice!😄

Since the weather was sunny we were looking for a place with an outside area to get some brunch and Café Rotkehlchen looked perfect for that.
Read morePositive surprise: It's 100% vegan now, clearly labeled on the menu.
The cappuccino with Oatly tasted amazing. We took two Paninis and they were just delicious. Since they were also very filling we took a "Snikkers" (like a vegan Snickers) to go for later. It tasted absolutely amazing!
Will definitely come again.

Super gemütliches Café mit richtig leckeren Frühstücksoptionen. Ich bin selten so freundlich bedient worden und allgemein die Atmosphäre ist super. Wer Veganes Gebäck sucht (Zimtschnecken, Croissants etc etc) ist hier ebenfalls gut aufgehoben. Ach ja und die Torten erst! Das Café Rotkehlechen ist meiner Meinung nach ein Muss, wenn man in der Südstadt unterwegs ist. #Veganuary

I think it will turn into my favourite café in the area. So nice! I'd say it's almost entirely vegan, just the cow's milk is not. All the food is and there are soooo many wonderful cakes! The spekuloos cake was so delicious and filling!🥰 I'm just not the biggest fan of their chai latte, it's too mild and oddly tasting. 🥴
