Tolle Kuchen - Edit
Spontan im Cafe Koppel gelandet, das erste Mal seit Jahren, es ist ja eine echte Institution in Hamburg. Der Kuchen war super und das Hauptgericht auch. Gemütlicher Laden, wenn auch nicht sehr ruhig, nette Mitarbeitende und die Größe des Kakaos war unfassbar! Einziger Minuspunkt, dass nicht alles vegan ist. Aber die veganen Optionen sind zahlreich und klar markiert, also definitiv eine Empfehlung!

Mir gefällt die Atmosphäre sehr gut. Das Café Koppel ist eine Ruheoase, wenn man sich vom Treiben in St. Georg erholen möchte. Das Essen ist zu allen Tageszeiten vielseitig. Es gibt sehr viele vegane Wahlmöglichkeiten, auch Kuchen!Ich gehe hier seit 15 Jahren immer gerne hin, wenn ich in Hamburg bin!

Several vegan options, all of which seem very nice. The portions are very small - very small! The ‘side salads’ are merely garnishes. One slice of bread with scrambled tofu - ordered some beans, which were a tiny cup for four euros. So don’t turn up hungry! Very nice service and nice option away from the crowded areas.

The vegan breakfast I got here was really really good! Although there aren't really many vegan options if you don't like your breakfast sweet. So I'm probably gonna order the same if I ever come here again😄
Read moreThe prices on the menu seem very low at first sight but the under-10€-dishes don't really feel enough for a proper breakfast. So I had two of them - two half buns and one toast with scrambled tofu - which was enough but I also paid 17€ total just for the food.
So these are pretty normal, maybe even a little higher prices for vegan breakfast.
And at Sunday noon it was a little noisy in there but I didn't mind 🙃

The cafe is located in an old pretty building with several art and taylor stores. They offer multiple vegan warm and cold dishes and cakes. I really enjoyed my lasagna and my mango cheese cake. Definitely recommend this place.

Ich mag das Café sehr gerne für ein entspanntes Frühstück, denn es ist im Hinterhof, sodass man den Hamburger Lärm nicht mitbekommt. Hinzu kommt, dass die vegane Auswahl groß und lecker ist. Immer wieder!

Gorgeous little hidden gem - Edit
Ok I'm not quite sure if this is such an insider's tip since the café is already 35+ years old and the chocolate cake is famous. The café is beautiful, the outside seating area is spacious and they have more vegan cakes than vegetarian cakes! Tried the famous vegan chocolate cake and it was actually to die for, not too sweet but the chocolate icing on top with the walnuts was just heavenly. I really enjoyed watching the people frequenting the donation shelf, too. Also the gallery in the same building was super cool as well. I regret having had lunch before coming to this place, the meal options sounded terrific!

Cozy atmosphere and tasty food - Edit
When we went here, we enjoyed some delicious vegan food (the cake in particular was amazing) and the cozy atmosphere of the courtyard. Although it was busy, the waiters were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or to get a coffee.

Loved the vegan options they have, but I wish there was more. There were more vegan options if you come on a weekend. But during the week the range of vegan options is very limited.

The café was very busy on a Saturday afternoon and therefore quite noisy. They only had two vegan cakes which were very good, but the service could have been a bit more friendly and the tea was not hot.

One waitress at the bar seemed really in a bad mood and was very impolite and extremely confrontational towards me.

Ich habe gerade einen veganen und biologischen Rhabarberkuchen aus Dinkelmehl mit Mandelsplittern genossen. Dazu wurde mir ein Gewuerztee Masala mit soya schaum serviert! Auch gluten freier Kuchen wird angeboten. Dieses Cafe ist ein vegetarischer Familienbetrieb. Am Freitag Nachmittag war es proppevoll.

Cool entrance with vaginas on the ceiling, the surroundings of the cafe are event locations and the cafe itself has a very nice vibe, warm and cozy. I had cakes, quiche, breakfast, and all was good, just that the chai tea was too sweet and cold and the coffee comes kind of cold too... but I’m happy and will come back.

Cafe Koppel ist ein schönes Cafe das zum gemütlichen Kaffeetrinken / Essen einlädt. Dafür dass es als Veggie/Vegan Laden angepriesen wird finde ich es aber überteuert für Sojamilch einen Aufpreis von 50 Cent zu verlangen. Dafür hat der Kaffee nicht einmal so gut geschmeckt - kenne andere Cafés die das definitiv besser können, und das ohne Aufpreis für die Sojamilch zu verlangen.
