Almost all the food is vegan, with the exception of a few drinks that contain honey and pollen (ask which ones). Part of the the Cafe Gratitude brand originating from San Francisco - its second Los Angeles location. Menu features both raw food as well as cooked meals, vegan desserts and raw pies. Trendy, beach vibe and busy at mealtime. Also offers breakfast until 1pm which includes pancakes, waffles, and french toast. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Too.. fake? - Edit
Just a strange forced hipster energy. Only a few blocks from my home so I wanted to love it but I probably will never return. It can be ok here and there but food wasn’t very good I don’t think I even finished it. Only thing I liked was milkshakes. They have a question of the day to start a conversation for your table. Odd.

Amazing brunch & service - Edit
Had a delicious açaí bowl & Ayurvedic latte for brunch. Add cacao powder, for a perfect hot cocoa. Many of the lattes have raw organic honey, so beware if you don’t consume honey.

Amazing menu, service and vibe - Edit
I came here on my own and I felt so welcomed. All the menu items are associated with an affirmation which is a first. I’ve never had that before. They have so many gluten free options to and the menu is clearly marked. They do use raw honey so not all vegan. I had a green juice and the coconut calamari OMG next level amazing.

A great place with great food and and atmosphere. Three visits so far on our 10 day vacation, and then we don't count the three visits to the other Gratitude and the visit to Gracias Madre which is also their restaurant.

I am....grateful for cafe gratitude - Edit
I love everything about Cafe Gratitude. The food, the atmosphere, and the good vibes. I like that the menu is affirmations when you order and the question of the day for dinner conversations. The food is amazing. I wanted to order everything, check out my blog post for a full review: https://thatjenngirl.com/blog/2166/vegan-in-l-a-cafe-gratitude

I love their salads and desserts though I noticed there is a garlic and onion allergy warning which made the raw cake taste a little bizarre to me.

Loud and pretentious. “I am awesome” bowl lied. It was barely mediocre. Someone needs to introduce this restaurant to spices. Overall it was a sad experience. Never again!

Cracking place. Lovely staff. I ate the 'Glorious'. It was good! Tasted the 'Original' though and that was genuinely amazing. Bit pricey but worth it. Think that they use the font papyrus for their signage so pedant nerds might want to close one eye. Go here!

Delicious healthy food - Edit
My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place on accident and was reluctant to try since I generally like to stay away from ‘healthy vegan places’ since they are overpriced and not filling. But I was blown away by the food! My boyfriend ordered a burrito and it was incredibly flavorful and filling. But the best part about this place was their dessert selection. The desserts were so good, I am so glad I tried them. I ordered ‘milkshake’ and a cheesecake. Also the waiters are very nice, I like the thought behind asking customers a question.

The space and the people are just lovely. I came for breakfast and I loved it. Except for the heavy on the garlic all was amazing and fresh and delicious. Almost all vegan except for some honey in beverages. Loved the vegan cake selection also.

Delicious but OverPriced - Edit
I had a delicious Devoted/Soul bowl that made my taste buds happy because I’m from the south and a comfort bowl like that is a rarity in the vegan world.
Read moreAs a desert, I grabbed a small Mineralized Mint Shake.
It was nice on a hot day.
The atmosphere was busy and beautiful, from family’s to friends getting together for a Sunday brunch. I was alone and so I sat at the bar, which I loved because I don’t need table service.
For those two options I paid over $30.00 and that hurt my soul a little bit. They had one bowl that was called the community bowl and it was still $12 and such a basic option,(quinoa, black beans, kale, Tahini, garlic).
Pros: Large Menu for any Craving, Fun and Friendly Enviroment
Cons: Trendy Expensive

Saw this place added to happycow years back and have eaten here several times. Was here again recently - here's my Venice Cafe Gratitude review update.
Read moreThe food in general is all right, depends on what you order. I like the polenta with chard dish. The enchiladas and the gratitude bowl (beans, kale, grain, sauce) are ok. Desserts are so-so. I hate the eggplant & quinoa shell pasta dish.
Prices are higher than other veg place in LA, but it is yuppie Venice with a lot of disposable income.
The best part, probably most people don't know about, is the kids menu. The prices are half of the regular menu ones, and the food is tasty - my child enjoyed her pizza and mac n cheese.
Pros: vegan, fresh, patio seating
Cons: pricey, long wait, loud inside

Fantastic service! - Edit
I visited Cafe Gratitude with a group of 8 on a Saturday evening and the host was very accommodating! Both he and our waitress were very friendly which was a real highlight for me. I ordered the Mexican bowl and, whilst it was a little too spicy for my taste, I did enjoy it. I would definitely return to try some more items on the menu!
