A Magical Vegan Family Dining Experience - Edit
Cafe Gan Sipur is perfect for Vegans and perfect for families. On the Vegan side, they have a ton of diversified options. As a "Kosher Dairy" restaurant they set the bar for what other similar establishments should strive for when creating Vegan options.
Read moreGan Sipur was one of the firsts in Israel (and definitely in Jerusalem) to use Zero Egg as an option for Shakshuka. They don't just have Vegan Cheeses, they even have a Vegan Fried Halloumi cheese option! On our last visit we tried the Vegan Toast, Asian Stiry fry, & Halloumi Salad. The Toast was perfectly flavored oozing with Vegan Cheese, Pesto and antipasti. The Asian Stirfry was very tasty and had a really nice teriyaki sauce, although I would have preferred tofu cubes instead of little fried potatoes. The Vegan Halloumi was absolutely incredible. The Halloumi was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and tasted 90% like the real cheese. The Salad was filled with Cukes, cherry tomatoes, greens, and fresh mushrooms that were marinated in some form of Balsamic Glaze before they were cooked. It was a dream salad.
The atmosphere is amazing. Inside it's classy with beautiful views towards Sacher Park. Outside, it feels like you're eating in an enchanted garden. The presentation of the food is gorgeous, like every plate is an artist's canvas. The service we had by our 2!!! waiters, Yaakov and Hindy, was the best service I've had in a restaurant in Israel over the last 2 decades.
In terms of families here is why they set the bar. When we walked, we immiedately got kid's menus which included a small menu, but also had cool games with a make it yourself dice. They gave the kids colored crayons to draw in the coloring book part of their menu. When our waiter took our orders, he crouched down to the height of our 2 year old and 4 year old. so that he was eye level with the little customers to take their orders. Without even asking they were given really fun kid's cups (which they got to keep) and the food was perfect for their age. The pasta was an eatable noodle (Fuzili) with a lightly flavored tomato sauce and the pizza was offered with great topping or Israeli kids, served in a fun way, and cut for little kids to enjoy. It was perfection. Even the desert menus comes in frames which look like they are out of a fairy tale.
Cafe Gan Sipur, means "The Garden of fairytales Cafe" and it really lives up to it's name, giving a delicious & magical experience to families, Vegans, or anyone who eats here.
Pros: Perfect flavors & Lots of Vegan Options, Incredible, warm, friendly, Service, Enchanting Atmosphere and Beautiful Presentation
Cons: Can be hard to find parking

Fantastic atmosphere & great food! - Edit
I happened to be in Gan Sacher today, so a friend and I decided to try this new cafe. The friendly staff welcomed us with smiles and managed to quickly seat us even though the place was bustling at peak lunch hour. Our waiter was happy to explain the vegan options (although they are clearly marked on the menu) and make a few recommendations. We tried the athlete's salad and the vegan shakshuka - both were fabulous! The presentation of the salad was quite creative, the veggies in the shakshuka were more plentiful than I expected, and the bread was fresh and warm. I'd like to see a few more vegan meals offered (this cafe is a bit heavy on the dairy), but there's certainly enough to satisfy. My favorite part of the experience may have been simply gazing out through the floor-to-ceiling glass walls into the beautiful park!
