Favorite - Edit
ByTOFU is my favorite place to eat in Seoul. I always get the same thing which is the taco bowl. It is so fresh and tasty. My husband has tried almost everything on the menu and has no complaints! An added bonus is their desserts which is normally a cookie or pound cake. Desserts are always fresh and really good! Definitely give it a try if you are in the area. We try to get there early because seating can be limited.

Incredible food - 8.5/10 - Edit
Very good food, the bahn mi was great and so was the wrap, good portion sizes and quite a few options.
Read moreThe exterior is slightly confusing with all the pets and I'm not a massive dog guy so that didn't necessarily appeal to me also the sink and toilet being separate was not ideal.

Nice vegan restaurant - Edit
Good vegan cafe/restaurant, located near the Namsam tower.
Read moreThey offer sandwiches, bowls and soup. I took the eggless sandwich but I’m not a fan of the jam included in it. Personally, I don’t like mixing sweet and salt in a meal 😅
The price is ok, can be pricey for some people 9€ for the sandwich but I was full after eating it so it’s good enough for me👌
Pros: English speaker
Cons: Jam in the eggless sandwich, No toilets in the restaurant

Not a pet shop, but a 5 star lunch - Edit
Before traveling to Seoul I did a little research on vegan restaurants and “byTOFU” was high on my list. It was at a modest walking distance from my hotel and every single item on the menu looked good. So on day 1 I went to byTOFU for lunch. South Korea’s premier navigation app “Naver” took me right to the restaurant, but I kept walking as I didn’t think the pet shop was a vegan restaurant. As it turns out: the dogs are merely a logo and what looks like a pet shop or dog groomer is in fact byTOFU.
Read moreThe items on the menu are somewhat simple, therefore byTOFU is mainly a lunch place. And during that time the restaurant is packed! During my visit, there was a queue of people waiting inside and out!
And after eating at byTOFU I understand why: the food is delicious! I ordered the “Sunrise bowl”, which seems to be a favorite amongst regulars as I saw it on many tables. It comes with a little card that explains the tofu is baked in the oven and not fried, meaning tasty but not fatty. The broccoli comes with dressing, but it is up to the customer to add some (after tasting I added all).
By tofu is an excellent example of what good vegan food is. The bowl is nutritious (tofu for protein, vegetables for iron and vitamines, vegan mayo for taste), tasty and beautifully presented. So no doubt in my mind: 5 stars!

Our favourite breakfast place in Seoul - Edit
The eggless sandwich and banh mi are DIVINE. If you get a fresh hot cookie and dunk it in your oat latte you will literally hear angels sing.

Yummy vegan food and cute dogs - Edit
Loved how loudly dog friendly they are, and it was sweet to see people coming in with their cute doggies.
Read moreWhen I first got there late morning I was waiting for a friend and ordered a decaf latte. The place was pretty empty, only a couple people, but within about half an hour it was completely jammed. Super popular locally, when my friend arrived we tried both the tofu salad (which was excellent, especially with that dollop of sour cream it comes with), and the famous egg salad sandwich.
Everything was really tasty and fresh. Cute place, kind staff, would definitely come again.

Eggless sandwich is the best - Edit
At first I was kind of worried about the strawberry jam on the eggless sandwich, but it was amazing. Crispy bread. Salty and eggy Salat and the sweetness of the jam.

My brother and I went to byTOFU multiple times during our stay in Seoul. The food was fresh and quick. The service was efficient. Wonderful ambiance. Most importantly, it opened at 9am while most places in Seoul open at 11am to 12pm. Very thankful for our time there!

Amazing! - Edit
Have been here twice now and have tried majority of the menu items (egg salad sandwich, sunrise bowl, vlt wrap, and lattes) and everything has been amazing!! Staff is super friendly and nice and speak English very well. I recommend going before 11am so you can get the lattes (they don't do them once they get too busy) Vanilla has been my favorite.

will be my most missed restaurant - Edit
It’s immediately evident this place is ran by kind people who care about animals. The food is SO good! At this point, my husband and I have tried everything on the menu and everything is just so delicious. There are new baked goods frequently so follow their Instagram to see what will be available on that day. I appreciate that bringing your own containers for to-go is encouraged. Bytofu opens earlier than most other places which is a great bonus.
