Excellent food! - Edit
I had the pesto sandwich and it was so good. My kids and my husband who are not 100% vegan loved it as well.

Crave-Worthy! - Edit
I live in Montana and CRAVE these sandwiches- Buds is a must-have for me whenever I visit Salt Lake. Highly recommend the cheesesteak (and pizza steak) as well as the Buffalo Chicken. We tried the seasonal chicken noodle soup and instantly felt warm & cozy. The staff members are also spectacular. See you next trip! #Veganuary

Good sized menu and filling and tasty sandwiches. We had the pesto sub, the Mediterranean veggie and the fresh veggie. Lovely bread.

Cute vegan sandwich shop in SLC! - Edit
Vegan sandwich shop in Salt Lake City!
Read moreFood****
We decided to split the pesto sandwich and the classic deli sandwich with the Whole wheat bread options. These both were absolutely delicious - like if we lived here we would come here lunch all the time. We also got cold brew coffee which was a good size for the price.
Service ***
Service was good, only reason we took off was outdoor seating was closed so there was no where to eat the food and the microphone for the server was very garbled so at times hard to hear.
Atmosphere **
There is nowhere to sit and this is probably due to covid but they didn’t say. I can’t confirm they have seating anywhere since I didn’t see it. Right now you can expect to get takeout.

Great price for the delicious food you get

Pleasing! - Edit
I had the Buffalo – different than I expected, but tasty in an subtle way. Bread was good, and it was fairly big. Only takeaway (pandemic thing or always that way, not sure) at the moment, so could not judge other aspects. I was a tourist, but would bank on going here regularly if I lived in SLC!
Read moreAs a minor complaint, the wrapper I got was the type that welds a synthetic inner to foil. This is not very sustainable (cannot be recycled and is not easily biodegradable). I would hope that as a takeaway vegan place they would think a bit more about their packaging (some paper version would be best, followed by foil only).

Pros: All vegan, Really did seem homemade

We tried the Buffalo, Pesto & Philly Cheesesteak. Pesto was the favorite, but none of them were excellent. Overhyped.

Great Food! - no working phone . - Edit
Great food!!!! Really great service ! - Only 4 stars because as a traveling vegetarian we could not reach them because the phone is not not working or they don't have one. That caused a lot of aggravation and we almost bypassed them to go to the next vegan place but we decided to go there and make sure they were open before moving on. Get a working phone!

This place makes the greatest vegan sandwiches ever!! Pesto and buffalo are my favorites!! If you check this place out you will not be disappointed. The sandwiches are also mostly under $10 from what I remember, which is amazing! How can they be so delicious and so affordable?!?!

Good - Edit
The staff was great, vibe at the pick-up window was fun and colorful. Great fast place to stop if you are driving through Salt Lake. However, the sandwiches were not as flavorful as I would have hoped (too acidic, maybe it was the vinegarette?) I got the pesto sandwich but I highly suggest getting the Cheese Steak sandwhich and adding lettuce!

Best Lunch in Town - Edit
First of all this is the best lunch place in town, hands down. Not best VEGAN place, best overalls. It just happens to be fully plant based. With that said you have to go here. Try the pesto sandwich, buffalo salad, and taco salad. Pro tip is to get the taco salad as a wrap, basically a burrito...that bbq jackfruit is just 🤯

Cons: Only outdoor seating, so best to take to-go

Vegan Sandwiches in SLC - Edit
Buds is the best place to get a vegan sandwich in the Salt Lake City Area. As a long time player in the SLC vegan scene, Buds offers a wide variety of sandwiches that are 100% plant based. Some of my favorites include the Buffalo Chicken, Pesto, Pizzasteak, and Deli Classic. The bread at Buds is awesome: crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. They also offer wraps instead of bread. Buds also has salads, delicious cookies, drinks, and chips.
Read moreBuds is a to-go only dining option. You order online or at a window and pick up your food when it is ready. There is no indoor seating. There are a few picnic tables available on site.

My boyfriend and I get the cheesesteak and the pesto add sprouts. We split half and half and love every minute of it. Wish the cheesesteak had some kind of krout or pickled red onion or something to add a little texture besides just the sauce bread and chickun

Always amazing! - Edit
I cant say enough about how much I love Buds! The team does a great job and are always so happy and pleasant. While I have my go to favorites, everything is just so good, ive never been disappointed. The bread is everything you'd ever want, crusty, soft and tasty. The fillings are unique, but simple and soo satisfying. Grubby, messy and very filling, Buds is something I could eat every day but keep myself in check with maybe once a month or so. Its the one place I get really excited to treat myself to. Its reasonably priced, fun to visit and really just the best vegan sandwich in SLC.
