Nice food, great views - Edit
We ate here on a Wednesday lunchtime in June (2026). There was a choice of 3 set meals, all vegan as far as we could tell: udon, soba, or tofu. Both noodle choices were ramen style in a tasty broth with a good amount of tofu, and served with a portion of rice balls, a seaweed salad, and a couple of pickles. Green tea was freely available at the table but it seemed you could order drinks from a menu at the table

Good temple food - Edit
After having had temple food several times in Japan it can get a little repetitive but this one was probably the best we had. I would definitely recommend having lunch there if you're in the area. Generous quantities of tofu and they explicity mention using vegetable broth only. You also get to have a great view on lake Biwa!

Great vegan food - Edit
They had four different meals, all vegan. We entered two minutes before last order and the staff was very friendly. The food was great. We got suprised by an amazing view over the Biwa lake.
