Really lovely relaxed atmosphere. Sat outside for lunch and got to try some authentic Spanish dishes with a vegan twist. Fully vegan restaurant with lots of different food and drink options. One of the best vegan pizzas I’ve ever had!! Would definitely return when I am next in Barcelona.

Update; también sirven desayunos así que fuimos a probar. La verdad, parece un restaurante totalmente distinto a la hora del desayuno, muy tranquilo. La comida también parece totalmente distinta, nos decepcionó un poco. Muy poca cantidad por el precio que tiene. Además no encontramos las cosas especialmente buenas.
Eso sí, lo sigo recomendando para comida y cena

Read moreThe ambiance is relaxed. The blue tones and beach theme create a peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and ready to indulge in the delicious cuisine. The waitstaff was very Spanish. They will only come over if you make eye contact, so if you need something, don't be afraid to get their attention.
The food is nothing short of perfection. We started with the NEAPOLITANS DO IT BETTER pizza, a chewy Napolitano crust with marinated, tangy eggplant and parmesan cheese. I was divine: cooked perfectly. The next dish was the FOCACCIA AL PROSCIUTTO. A sandwich with an exorbitant amount of well-crafted "prosciutto" and a tangy Cesar sauce. The prosciutto might be homemade based on the cut. Either way, it tastes eerily close to the real thing. Finally, dessert. I can never pass up a Tiramisu. I've eaten them everywhere--Italy and beyond. This was labeled as Grandma's secret recipe. It is a very different but equally delicious version: A must-try.
Blu Bar is a well-crafted food experience. This is easily the best vegan spot in Barcelona (maybe all of Spain) and should get international attention.

Dreaming of the butternut squash truffle pizza always - Edit
I keep going back to Blu Bar for their butternut squash, shiitake and truffle pizza, which I genuinely think about often. It's incredible.
Read moreI've tried a few other things from the menu including the pulled pork sandwich, and all were great, but I'll always go back to the pizza.
The drinks I've tried have been great and I love their house kombucha.
Unfortunately i was very disappointed with the tiramisu the last time I tried it, as it wasn't really tiramisu. It was more like chocolate cake, which was tasty, but I really wish they'd do a more authentic tiramisu.
As well as that, unfortunately the prices are very high, which is why I don't visit as much as I'd like to.
The staff however, have always been extremely friendly and the owner is a very lovely person who is clearly very passionate about what he does.
You can see why Blu Bar is such a popular spot and despite being on the pricier side, I'll always recommend it.

Nice outdoor environment & tasty dishes - Edit
We've been to Blu Bar twice during our vacation in Barcelona. First we had brunch and then we went for dinner as we were curious about the pizzas. At Brunch we ordered the scramble eggs foccacia which was very good and the plant protein Budda bowl which was a very small dish and did not meet expectations. When we had dinner we ordered the pizza “Don’t call me marguerita” and the “Capriciosa”. Both pizzas was very tasty. We also highly recommend the Tiramisu as a dessert. Great service, attentive staff and the outside area is very pleasant, we were lucky to get a table in this part both times but this summer time the queue to get an outside table can be quite long.

Restaurant with a wide variety of dishes: it offers pizzas, hamburgers, burritos, protein bowls, cakes, etc. We tried the truffle and mushroom pizza and the burrito and really liked both dishes, especially the pizza. It also has several desserts, I tried the carrot cake and I also liked it a lot. Highly recommended.

super fun energy, great outdoor seating, staff always kind. the food here is great, but could be better. I like everything i’ve eaten from here, but with Vrutal and Desoriente right down the street (2 other vegan restaurants with the same owner as blu bar) I often found myself going to one of those instead. the new menu change is exciting and it seems like maybe they’re still finding a groove. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a drinking & tapas experience.

Both of the pizzas we had here were spectacular! A thin crust, delicious homemade vegan cheeses and hams, crispy outer edge.. definitely worth a detour just to try them ✨ The staff were also friendly and the outside seating was very comfortable.

💭: this was a tomato sauce base with vegan mozzarella, baked aubergine, oregano, basil and rocket pesto. It’s the first time I have ever had pesto on a pizza and omg!! It was delicious. Near the end it did become a little sickly, but it tasted so good.

💭: this was a tomato sauce base with cherry tomatoes, rocket pesto, cashew cheese and basil. my partner didn’t like the fact it was “blobs” (as he called it). He said each bite was different and wished he had spreaded it across the pizza.

📝: We asked the waiter what she recommended because we were overwhelmed by choice. She advised their pizzas were the best! I recommend visiting and trying their pizza to see what you think.
