This ain't it.

I thought the negative review was being harsh but after eating there I can tell you the review was being generous. The food didn't taste good, and I couldn't finish most of it. The red red (what I think the black-eyed peas was) was okay, but it mostly tasted like vegetable stock. The jollof also tasted overwhelmingly like vegetable bouillon, and I couldn't finish it. The side dish was bad and I didn't eat it. The person working there was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I almost didn't leave this review because of how nice he was, but paying $18 for food I found inedible warranted an honest review to warn people.

They tried but very uninspired also limited options

They have 3 vegan options and the one I had was the most traditional and it was boring. Rice beans and plantains is hard to make bad but it was meh. Not fresh tasting

Authentic Ghanaian Food

We’ve been looking for Ghanaian food in our neighborhood. Black Star Grill is a fantastic representation. The Jpllof ricem plantains, and veggies all tasted fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. The hot sauce (Waayke?) on the side was a treat.

Pros: Jollof rice, plantians, grillled vegetables
