Read moreUnfortunately, the food disappointed both me and my friends. For example: I had a falafel bowl with too much iceberg salad for my taste (because IMO iceberg is bad and cheap), and the falafels tasted bland and was a bit undercooked. My friends had some bread, which I also tasted, and it was really dry and bland too.
Furthermore we waited an hour for the main dish. Partly because I ordered a starter, which they other didn't. But it would be great if they asked if the main dish should be served together with the starter, if not all had ordered a starter.
Pros: Great service, Nice place, Local and organic

The staff is warm and attentive.
For appetizer I ordered the BioMania Burek as the waitress said that it was a very traditional Croatian dish. It was delicious. For my main I ordered the Falafel Bowl. It was fresh and bursting with flavor. I leave Zagreb tomorrow, but will come back again as I want to try everything on the menu! 🤍💚

A mind-blowing plant-based gem in Zagreb - Edit
Zagreb was just a necessary stop on our journey, getting from destination A to B. I had heard of the city, but really had no idea what to expect. After yet another long train ride and checking into our place, we decided to stroll around town for a bit. We hadn’t even had lunch yet, so we agreed to find something quick to eat.
Read moreWalking down the street, my eye caught a cheerful terrace with bright yellow chairs. “Let’s check that place out.” But on our way there, I noticed a chalkboard sign that said organic and plant-based. We looked at each other, that sounded perfect, so we stepped inside.
A friendly waitress showed us to a table. Oops… this seemed more like a proper restaurant than a quick snack bar. But hey, we were on holiday, so why not treat ourselves?
My son ordered the homemade burger, which turned out to be absolutely finger-licking good. I chose the gnocchi with truffle. And honestly… I don’t know if it was the relief of finally being able to relax, the beauty of our trip so far, the inspiring concept of this restaurant, or simply the exceptional taste of the food – but tears welled up in my eyes multiple times while eating this dish. It was just that good. I’m still impressed thinking about it.
And since we were already in heaven, we ordered dessert too. The blueberry lemon cake is something you absolutely cannot miss. It left me speechless.
Such kind staff, insanely delicious food of outstanding quality. An absolute must-visit if you’re in Zagreb.
P.S. Wow… Zagreb itself turned out to be a beautiful city too. Too bad we could only stay for such a short time.

So I tried burek (great!), gazpacho soup (really good), ceasar salad (good), carbonara (not bad but lacks a bit of flavour imo), brownie (great), vanilla ice cream (very yummy) and jaffa cake (meh for me but my boyfriend really liked it).

Overall, I think it’a a nice place but I wouldn’t be in a rush to go again. Maybe if they expanded the menu a little bit, because at the moment it’s very limited and kinda basic.

I LOVED everything! From the setting of the place, the customer service, the detailed info of the menu, the recicle paper menu, wow! But the best of all was the FOOD! The star of our day, the cherry in the cup: delicious, tasty, healthy, super filling plus a lot of variety of options between starters, main dish, desserts, drinks, ALL vegan! We had the gazpacho, burek and sweet potato latte plus a ginger and turmeric shot as a complementary treat! AMAZING! You must come!

Read moreThe restaurant is beautiful and tasteful in it's styling. The staff are wonderful, friendly, chatty. Give knowledge to each dish, as well as recommendations. The food was superb. I had the biomania burger which was up there as one of the best veggie burgers I've had. My partner had the carbonara which was lovely. The chocolate desserts were gorgeous, coupled with both vanilla and matcha ice-cream. We couldn't have asked for more for our last night in Croatia.

My son picked Biomania Bistro. I do prefer to go to 100% vegan restaurants so despite the prices being out of my comfort zone decided to go for a holiday treat.
Read moreWe sat outside as I understand it was hot and there was not much space inside. (We also had not booked) Out side is not directly on the street though it's like a terrace. I took some time me to decide what to order having studied happy cow I tried the Caesar salad which was excellent. I will recreate it at home!
I had a green tea and they give you a timer to brew it for optimal time. My son had the spaghetti bolognaise -and a ginger lemonade or beer. He reported this as very good. We asked for tap water too but got some 'live water' 'specially filtered' water which I think was €1.50 a bottle .
In summary, friendly smiling service, excellent food but a bit pricey but then they report it is organic, seasonal and locally sourced, so perhaps it was cheap!

My wife and I had dinner there on a Thursday in mid June. It was a warm night and most people were sitting outside but we chose to sit by the window. It was pretty busy but I suspect it may be even busier at lunchtime when most people eat.
Read moreThe staff were super-friendly, happy to chat for a minute or two and were clearly committed to quality vegan food. I had the soup, which was excellent, and my partner started with the bourek, which she liked but found a little salty (we do not use much salt ourselves). For the main courses, she had a Caesar salad, which again she found a shade salty, and I had spaghetti carbonara, which I enjoyed.
For dessert, I had the delicious homemade ice-cream (although there was only one scoop) and my wife the Jaffa Cake, which was good.
Our only real quibble was that the glasses of wine were just 100ml, which I am sure is good for our health but less than the normal 125ml. I just found that a bit irritating. Desserts were good.
Pros: Very friendly, All vegan, Tasty food

We had the truffle gnocchi and the BioMania Burger and everything tasted amazing! The ingredients are regional and seasonal, and the food is definitely prepared fresh. In addition to the great food (and concept of the restaurant), the staff was lovely. Can only recommend going there.🩷

Stumbled happily upon this delightful plant based, local and organic restaurant on a lazy Sunday evening 🌱 I enjoyed the spaghetti bolognaise with an addition of a melty vegan Parmesan (made of chickpeas) which was a tasty addition to a wonderful meal of a good portion. I also enjoyed a scoop of their homemade matcha ice cream for dessert 🍨 😋
