Delicious lebanese food - Edit
We ordered a collection of dips, falafel, kibbeh, dolmades, salad, fried eggplants and pita bread. The menu is in Spanish and the staff speaks only Spanish but I managed to order vegan food with the great help of a waitress. It was all very delicious and tasted great together. However the falafel was too much fried because it was like stone from the outside and very dry from the inside.
Read morePros: Great flavours, Helpful staff, Lots of vegan options but not marked on the menu
Cons: Falafel was too dry, They didn’t have a drink menu, Quite expensive

Great service - Edit
Traditional vegan options for this type of restaurant. We ordered the hummus, tabbouleh, and falafel sandwich. All were very good. The service was exceptional

Didn't live up to expectations - Edit
Had dinner tonight. Menu is in Spanish which is fine as I could recognise most of usual vegan options. Zaatar bread was overcooked, rice with lentils and crispy onions was dry, not fresh and onions were burnt. Kibbeh came out 20-30 minutes after our other food arrived. The ENTIRE time we were there the bell in the kitchen was being aggravatingly slammed, literally non stop. I know Panamanians don't like noise but it was really aggravating. Yes there are lots of vegan options but I didn't think the quality of food warranted the rave reviews this place gets. Also took about 30 minutes for them to pack our food (in styrofoam!!) and bring check after we asked. Gotta love Panama time.

Cons: Burnt food, Styrofoam takeaway boxes, Bell in kitchen banged non stop for two hours

Fun, and a great place for groups - Edit
We had excellent service and the owner actually came out to greet us and ask us how things were. That goes a long way! The food was delicious and we were encouraged to order as a group which was both fun and delicious. I was the only vegan at the group and the restaurant was careful to tell me which things I could have when they were set in front of us. Everything (plant – based) was delicious! We had a marvelous time. The mint lemonade was a treat!
Read morePros: Moderate-inexpensive Middle Eastern vegan options, Menu clearly marks gluten-free and vegan options, The service was not rushed, and not slow either

Nice interior and good food - Edit
Nice interior, staff - average (no-one was friendly, no-one was smiling). We usually love something really simple with falafels and hummus like fermented cabbage, beets, grated carrot etc. but this wasn’t on the menu, so we got pickled vegetables, but it wasn’t enough and everything tasted dry. A complimentary tea and a small deserts after our meals was a nice touch, however, it wasn’t vegan (and they didn’t even tell us) but my boyfriend loved it (he is vegetarian) and Baclava was oily for me but my boyfriend loved it too. People smoking cigars and hashish all around us wasn’t fun too.

Absolutely delicious! - Edit
This is the 1st time I brought my fiancé to a Lebanese restaurant & it was all new flavours for her, but she thought it was the most amazing food we had in Panama. The hummus was just perfect (though we always need to ask for spice), the falafels were just right, the flavours in the lentil soup were so different than I am accustomed to having, but I loved it & the look on her face after that 1st of baklava... you wouldn’t expect we were eating food hahaha

Good Fresh Lebanese food - Edit
We tried the pita bread with hummus and the falafel balls and they were fresh and tasted great! It was hard to tell by the menu what other dishes were vegan and the staff wasn't fluent enough to explain. They did give us a apperative on the house, very nice.

Best Lebanese food I tried - Edit
Except for the falafels that were average everything else we ordered was to die for - the house made pita bread was served straight from the oven, the lentil soup was rich and spicy, the baba ganoush was smokey, the houmous melted in our mouth, and the kibbehs were cooked to perfection. Great variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Open 7 days a week including public holidays (it saved our hangover on the first of January!).

I really like this place, there are lots of vegan options available. I usually get the baba ganoush, hummus, falafel and tabbouleh salad. I think it has a great ambiance as well, they usually have belly dancers and play middle-eastern music.

Love the one located at the Causeway - Edit
When looking for the Beirut downtown, my family and I got lost about 3 times. The Beirut at the Causeway, however, is in a beautiful area, and it's very easy to locate. The waitress was friendly, even though we ordered a very large, complicated meal. Not many people there at the time, which we thought was odd. However, there were tons of vegan options, including a Falafel sandwich, traditional Falafel (if you order without the sauce, which contains dairy), Baba Ganush, Hommus, vegetable Kibbeh, and much more.

Great place when you're hungry - Edit
I love beirut locations, I've been in the Playa Blanca, Zona Bancaria and Cosway and the staff has always been super helpful and friendly, which is something very hard to find in Panama.
Read moreI have tasted almost every vegan thing on the menu, babba ganoush, hummus, veg kibbe, tabbulleh salad, falafels, and eveything was good.
Actually the Playa Blanca location saved me on a work trip because everything in the resort menu had meat so I made a big purchased and saved the rest on the room fridge and ate their food for 2 days
Pros: lots of choices, friendly staff, several locations

Good Food - Edit
Recently ate there and had a great experience. I had hummus, baba ganoush, salad falafel. Everything was very tasty except if you're vegan make sure to tell them "no leche, queso, yogurt o mantequilla" because the falafel came with yoghurt on top.

Good food! - Edit
Beirut was a welcome meal after traveling in Panama for over 2 weeks and struggling to eat well as a vegan. We tried to find 4 other Happy Cow listed restaurants (all closed or too hard to locate) before finding Beirut, but we were happy to be there. It was New Year's Eve 2014 and they were preparing for a big NYE party, but the manager took care of us and made sure we got a meal. He also spoke in English to us to make sure that we could ask questions about the food and feel comfortable with the ingredients. He understood the concept of veganism and even suggested a well-rounded meal to us. I read the other reviews and agree that the rest of the staff seemed unfriendly and mostly self-absorbed, but when the manager was around, they did what he said. Too bad the manager isn't serving all of the tables there. They could definitely use some training on customer service. But if you focus on the food and fresh juices and enjoy the company at your table, the rest of this stuff won't matter. Parking was right out front. They are across from a casino, making it a bit easier to find. Cool patio area, and yes, in the city, there will be traffic noise on that patio. Try the fresh watermelon juice.

Love Beirut Restaurants in Panama - Edit
At least once a month we head to Beirut Restaurant on the Amador Causeway so we can enjoy their vegetarian dishes. It also serves food for people who eat animals. The traffic is much easier on the causeway than in the city so now that we no longer live in the city we seldom visit that Beirut Restaurant, yet we used to eat there frequently when we did live in the city. Both locations are excellent. I love the outside deck on the causeway where you can see the ocean and the marina. The belly dancing on Thursday to Sunday night is a great treat. I love the service, and it is very consistently good. It seems that someone provides professional training to the servers - the service is way above any other service we have had in Panama. All in all it is a great dining experience. We go there with everyone who visits with us, and we have also held business meetings there.

Lots of Veg choices - Edit
Location: near Via España , the busy shopping street, across from the Royal Casino & walking distance from many downtown hotels in El Cangrejo district
Read moreFood and ambiance: Beirut has a spacious outdoor patio and two indoor dining rooms, and a menu with many Middle Eastern veg options: fattoush salad, babaganoush , hummus, lentil soup, pita pizza, felafel, & combination platter of veg appetizers. Some familiar dishes include dairy, but others are purely vegan. Service is quick, and beer, wine, soft drinks are available. I liked the complimentary glasses of strong mint tea that ended our meal. The veggie combination platter called "Beirut" is big enough to share, and soups and salads make it a reasonably varied lunch or dinner option for vegetarians and vegans in this city with few veg-friendly restaurants.

Pros: Fresh salads & appetizers, Vegan soups, Homemade pita bread
Cons: Might be hookah smoking on patio
