Yummy place to go with your friends - Edit
Shared a few dishes with my friends: The Fantucky fried Chicken, the Butter Chicken, the loaded fries and the Korean Sandwich. Although we only ordered chicken dishes, all meals had a really strong and distinct taste. They have all different kinds of food here including sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken, salads, ribs, stake, kebab and much more. All these options made it difficult to decide. Fortunately me and my friends ordered and shared our food💗

Full vegan restaurant in a concert hall - Edit
On the last stop of the Vegan Food Tour (July 2025), we went to the Rotown concert hall. Their restaurant, Backstage Vegan Kitchen, is completely plant-based, at the request of many customers.
Read moreWe had a filled pitta-like sandwich there, which was delicious! The accompanying drinks were also delicious.
The friendly chef is a true artist when it comes to serving dishes normally prepared with meat completely vegan. Even the most die-hard meat eaters had to admit that the meals and snacks from Backstage Vegan Kitchen are just as delicious as the regular versions. Often even better.

I probably could've chosen a dish more to my taste - I had the Indonesische Rendang, and 17,50€ is just a rip off for that. The curry itself is tasty, but pretty much everything else on the plate has no taste and the portion is tiny. Wasted potential tbh!
Read moreAnd to the waffle - when I ordered it, the kitchen was about to close, so they brought it together with the main course, which made the whipped cream melt completely. I also ordered with extra fruit, which they forgot, so they returned it and it came back with 7 blueberries and 1/2 strawberry, that costed 2€ extra!!!! What???? And it wasn't even a good waffle. Definitely not fresh, cream wasn't sweet and the fruit and chocolate were so sparely used you couldn't taste them at all. Very sad. The fries of my company were the best part. At least ketchup and water was free.

It was a while ago when we visited, in fall last year, but I still needed to give them 5 stars because the food was so delicious! We had some tasty fried appetizers, the tournedos (very nice texture) and the seasonal plate of veggies (only vegetables but prepared really well). The menu might have changed by now but I would definitely recommend this place. Service was very friendly too!

I have been to Rotown once or twice. The place itself is really cool and I’d probably go for that. The first bummer is the fact that they serve non vegan drinks (but it’s supposed to be a vegan place?). The other is that the food doesn’t make up for the price. The dishes aren’t cheap but are very simple. Most of the dishes are a bit bland and I could make them at home better (I’m not a great cook). Especially the past and butter chicken don’t live up to restaurant standards. I would come here again for the vibes and event. But I probably just stick to the fried oyster mushroom as a snack

I was doubting between 3 or 4 stars. It's nit because of the food, but the service was lacking.
Read moreWe had the kapsalon and the kapsamosa. Both taste very good.
But the service. They told us to sit in the part at the back. There were 2 other people sitting there. They took our drink order and we received our drinks fast. Then no one came for our food order. It was busy outside. They were probably busy with those people, but they knew we sat inside. It took about an half hour before we finally were able to order. Food then came quickly.
There was a concert in Rotown that evening, so more busy, but still. Also wasn't clear who belonged to what restaurant or café.
Also, my first choice of food was sold out, that early in the evening.

The typical beer smell of a concert venue put me off at first, not what you’re looking for for lunch. But the food was good, enjoyed the ‘kip-kerrie’ sandwich. Very affordable as well.

Everything was even better than expected. The whole menu is vegan and the food was amazing. Good variety of food including Indian and Indonesian dishes, as well as burgers etc.
