Plant-based restaurant offering a menu that blends Mediterranean soul with a modern edge. Mornings feature a brunch line-up including the “Avit Breakfast” with fluffy toasted brioche, scrambled tofu, vegan bacon, and avocado, Maple French toast topped with strawberries, Chantilly cream, and basil. For something in between brunch and lunch, try the crispy clubhouse sandwich. Dinner includes starters like beef tomato tartar and mushroom calamari fritti, hearty mains like bucatini bacciatore, pepper steak, or the famous truffle cheeseburger. Delicious and creative dishes! - Edit
We came here for dinner and loved it!
Read moreIt's a lovely little restaurant with a great selection of dishes. Our server was also really lovely and attentive.
For our starters we went for the wild farmed sourdough, Me*tballs with tirokafteri and Calamari fritti.
All three dishes were excellent! The sourdough was hot with a crispy crust and lovely soft chewy flavoursome centre. It came with a lovely big pot of olive oil for dipping. The me*tballs had a lovely chewy, meaty texture and were delicious with the rich, creamy, cheesy purée they were served with. The calamari were also crispy with a rich flavour, lovely creamy sauce and delicious fresh salad bits that contrasted really well.
For our mains we went for the Shiitake Genovese and lion’s mane.
The lion’s mane was absolutely delicious with a lovely crisp smoky flavour that contrasted well with the delicious asparagus and sauce. The pasta was good although in my opinion wasn't up to the flavour of the other dishes. That said, it was one of my wife's favourite dishes so maybe just my personal taste on that one!
For dessert we got the Baklava Cheesecake. This was another excellent dish - super creamy with a delicious flavour!
It's quite expensive (we paid €92 for our meal - although that did include a glass of wine and two bottles of mineral water on top of the food) but I think it's worth it as it was truly delicious!

Vegan gastronomic restaurant - Edit
The first restaurant I tried in Athens after arriving.
Read moreI got to try one of the few fine-dining restaurants in the city, and I wasn’t disappointed by the quality or the service.
After a homemade lemonade, I moved on to meatballs with torokafteri—a real treat.
I even asked for some good bread to mop up the sauce.
For the main course, an Avit breakfast with brioche, tomato sauce, mushrooms, avocado, and cherry tomatoes!
For dessert, the baklava cheesecake—it melts in your mouth.
Very warm welcome and tasteful decor.

Central restaurant, gourmet unique food - Edit
Visited for dinner. Very tasty food, pricey as in 'elegant gourmet restaurant' prices. However the portions on were adequate and quite large so i would not say it's overpriced. Had a colorful salad and a massive plate of seitan burger with mushrooms. Probably the most memorable seitan texture I ever had, highly recommend!
Read moreThe personnel was helpful, too formal for my taste but as expected in a gourmet restaurant. The space has lovely decor and it's clean. The bathroom is spacey and clean as well, unfortunately accessible only by stairs. The restaurant is located in the city center and it's easy to find.
(Beware of the city pavement: during the time I was sitting for dinner I must have witnessed over 15 people tripping over the pedestrian stones on the road which are badly maintained by the municipality of Athens.)
Pros: Unique food, Casual gourmet experience, Central location
Cons: Toilets accessible only by stairs, Pricey (but not overpriced)

Modern and elegant - Edit
We went here for a quiet celebratory dinner. The vibe is quiet and thoughtful. The decor is modern and elegant. The menu is small, but everything we ordered was tasty. One of the starters stood out: the fried-mushroom "calamari" served on a bed of mango salad. My main was superb: a Lion’s Mane mushroom steak with black rice, grilled asparagus, and sweet corn and lime espuma. My friends liked the garlic linguine and the burger sliders, too. My one caveat is that many of the dishes don't seem to have much protein.

Good - Edit
Very nice staff and atmosphere. Side dish with tomato tartar was good. The shiitake and lemon/garlic main pasta dishes were both a bit bland. We were informed of three dishes out of a small menu card not being available to order.

Really excellent 100% plant-based food in the heart of Athens - Edit
A wide menu choice of delicious fully vegan food, a great atmosphere, warm and friendly staff, and (when we were there at least) a great 80s music mix playing. Not the cheapest of places, but thoroughly justifying the cost.

Extremely tasty food, good service - Edit
We had a bit of a long wait for our lunchtime vegan burritos as I think they had to go out for pitta (😂)but that gave us more time to enjoy a good Greek red wine and a home made ginger lemonade (very tasty). Plus, the staff were very communicative and spoke excellent English.
Read moreWhen the burritos arrived they were extremely tasty, possibly the best food we had in Athens. It was quite a light lunch, but filling enough to keep us going until dinner. We would definitely go again to try some other dishes.

Fine Dining Experience at its Best! - Edit
Avit perfectly joins the ranks of Athens top class vegan restaurants which in my opinion make Athens the No. 1 vegan hot spot worldwide!
Read moreAvit is more on the upper class end of restaurants, offering you a fine dining experience at acceptable prices. Especially the starter (a loaf of bread with self-made hummus, cheese and other dips) as well as the desserts were outstanding. The main courses were fine as well, even though they didn’t stand a chance against the other two courses.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well.
All in all, I can warmly recommend this place, no matter of you’re looking for a fancy dining experience or just some overall good food!

Very nice place - Edit
Very nice minimalist restaurant.
Read moreWe had wine, stuffed cabbage leaves, and mushrooms as appetizers and then stroganoff, lions mane and meatballs as main dishes. Everything was very delicious! The staff was kind and helpful.
We ordered at 9, they brought us the food at 9:30 and they close at 10, so we unfortunately did not have any time for dessert.
The restaurant is kind of small so I think reserving in advance is important.

Fine dining in the heart of Athens - Edit
We had an amazing experience in Avit! It was the final night of our four-person all-vegan trip to Athens, and we wanted to make it memorable. Avit exceeded our expectations with flavours and service. It was in the middle of January, but we insisted on sitting outside, making use of the heaters & blankets. The staff was attentive and kind, suggesting drinks and joining for a birthday song which we sang to one of us. First, I had a cup of hot wine with beetroot juice, a fun take on an European classic. Then I had the lion's mane dauphnoise (mushroom steak) and baklava cheesecake. Both were delicious, and the baklava cheesecake was hands down the best fusion dessert I've had in a while. The food was innovative, palatable, and looked nice, too.

Upscale Vegan Gem in Athens - Edit
We went with high expectations and they were met. We had a variety of dishes and all were excellent. Very tasty and we really enjoyed the experience. The service was excellent as well and very attentive. I had the kombucha which was fantastic (had to order a second one). The highlights were the lion's mane steak (of course), the pasta was excellent as well (do not remember which one) and the desert, the baklava cheesecake, was possibly the best I ever had as a vegan!

Incroyable !! - Edit

unique and hard to find dishes! - Edit
As an ex calamari dish lover I was so glad that they serve fried "calamari" made from mushroom. It was absolutely delicious😋! I just wish I could find it in bigger portion as a main dish maybe with some fries on the side. it's definitely one of the fanciest vegan places you can find in Athens.
