Pros: Freundlicher Service , Interessantes Ambiente
Cons: 2 vegane Optionen, Laut, Relativ hochpreisig

Okay but nothing special - Edit
Nice to go because it's historical, especially if you are with non-vegan friends. The vegan options are nothing special, but not bad either, I was glad there were some after all. I had a plate full of veggies (seems the standard for restaurants that don't know what to do with vegan dishes...) but they were prepared very well so I won't complain.

Overpriced - Edit
The food is ok but nothing special. It‘s historic (Goethe‘s Faust took place there) and therefore interesting for tourists. In my opinion it‘s to expansive for the quality it offers

Lovely dinner in a historic atmosphere - Edit
It's not all that common that a city's most famous restaurant has a vegetarian/vegan section of the menu, so I was very excited to be able to check out Auerbachs Keller. We had a really nice meal-- the food was tasty and healthy, and the historic interior was great. We'll definitely go back when we're in Leipzig again this summer.
Read moreSure, it's not a vegan restaurant, so most of the menu items have meat in them. However, unless you're going to order more than two entrees for yourself in one sitting, it's a perfectly fine restaurant for a vegan. You can also see what's on the menu to make sure you're interested before you go in (menus are posted outside of restaurants in Germany.)
Pros: Really pretty, historic restaurant., Healthy, tasty food., One entree is both gluten free and vegan.
Cons: Not cheap., Might need reservations (but sharing is an option)

nothing special except the history - Edit
Auerbach's Keller is probably a place you have to visit if you are in Leipzig. But it is not a place to go if you are vegetarian or vegan.
Read moreAt least 95% of the dishes include meat, even on some simple dishes like salad and soups they put meat in. There is no real choice for veggies and I did not enjoy staying there.
In addition, prices comparably high, quality and general food experience is just average, if at all.
Other places are far more interesting for veggies to go.
Pros: historic place, located in beautiful city center
Cons: loud atmosphere , not veg friendly, average food, high price

Nice vegan food in an unlikely place! - Edit
Since Auerbachs Keller is a famous attraction in Leipzig, I was very pleased to learn that they recently added a vegetarian and vegan section to the menu since I wanted to take my visiting parents there. The options are:
Read more- Salad (vegan)
- Roasted Mediterranean veg with roasted potatoes (vegan)
- A pasta bake with cheese (vegetarian)
- Bakes "market fresh" vegetables (vegetarian)
You can also order sorbet for dessert.
Me and my wife tried both the vegan options and although we weren’t overly impressed, the food was certainly more than just edible and the sorbet was delicious! More than anything, we were simply happy that we were able to order trouble- and worry-free.
Pros: Clearly marked vegan options
Cons: Not particularly good value
