One of my favorite go-to cafes in Seoul - Edit
I’ve started to default to this cafe whenever I can’t decide what to eat for breakfast or lunch! Their menu is limited but all very yummy. My favorite of the sandwiches is definitely the avocado, it’s absolutely fantastic. I get the vanillabean latte every time, it’s very sweet.
Read moreThey do close food orders a little early (4pm) so it’s only good for breakfast or lunch, but it’s still a great option. I’ve only tried one of their cakes (Devil’s Cake) as I typically never have room for dessert, but it was lovely. The staff are really sweet. It’s a great place to sit and do some work.
Their tomato soup is also delicious - very different from the American tomato soup I’m used to. The rice yogurt is great too, it’s a unique taste, both tart and sweet. If you can visit this place multiple times to try their whole menu, I would do so!

Great for Breakfast/Brunch - Edit
If you're in for bread for breakfast, this is a great place. For our first visit we had one set with ciabatta, tomato soup, and salad with a other walnut/peas ciabatta. We also tried the guacamole sandwich. The bread is soft but well-made and very tasty. The soup was just right, the salad was good. The sandwich was tasty as well.
Read moreOn the second visit, we had the blueberry spread and pistachio cake. Both were delicious but almost too sweet at the end. The spreads at the counter are enough for two ciabattas.
Kind staff, nice location, spacious interior. The drinks could use less ice and paper cups for the free water are not very sustainable.

Bread, finally!! - Edit
All I am going to say about this place is that you MUST check it! Make it one of your Seoul priorities, like the imperial palace or the museum, because this place is that good!! All the items are vegan and although they may seem simple on the menu everything is super flavoursome and filling. The pistachio cake was insane.

Great cake - Edit
We went there in the afternoon to escape the heat outside. We had two hot drinks and the pistachio cake. Both the drinks and the caje were amazing!
Read moreBefore we left, we wanted to buy some leftovers (this café offers the leftovers from lunch for a reduced price in the afternoon/the next day). They told us that they were about to close which was totally understandable. I asked if we could have a quick look and they said yes. At exactly 5:50 p.m. (closing time) we just wanted to tell them which we would like to buy but they pointed to the time and said they were closed.
I understand that they want to close. As a customer however, I felt upset since they told me 2 minutes before, I could have a look...
Apart from that experience, the food and beverages seem great! 👍
Pros: cakes, drinks, vibe (great background music)
Cons: partly unfriendly staff

I am so sorry for causing such unpleasant experience at Ashville. Our last order is 5:30 pm in weekdays but it was our fault to provide such customer experience. Perhaps our staff should give better conversation or try to serve better at the situation in on the customer side.

Best bread I’ve ever had! A vegan oasis in Seoul - Edit
My partner (non-veg) and I visited Ashville bakery in Seoul for lunch and we couldn’t be more impressed. We had two sandwiches, the hash brown and the avocado one, and also the tasting plate. The bread was incredible, even better than some of the bread we had on our European travels, and the spreads were flavourful and diverse. Also super nice that all coffee is made on Oat milk and you don’t have to ask! We were so impressed with our meal that we had to try the pistachio cake which was also delicious. They gave us a little gift of chocolate ciabatta as we were leaving which was so nice. The service was great and the staff were all so lovely, which is not always the case when travelling as a foreigner in Seoul. We left feeling full, refreshed and incredibly satisfied. 100000000% recommended for any vegans in Seoul!

I fell for the hype - Edit
It wasn't bad per se. The ambiance was nice. The issue was my ciabatta sandwich was served with an overly saucy filling which soaked the plate and made the bottom of my sandwich very soggy. I had to eat it in one go as the plate had a pool of liquid at the bottom. I also ordered a vanillabean latte and it just tasted like a subpar latte. I'm not sure why this place was so hyped. I will say that someone nearby had a slice of cake and it was massive. So, maybe that's worth it as far as bang for your buck goes. This is a place where you could work on your computer all day, though. Save yourself a trip if you're second guessing vegan places to visit.
