Incredible establishment best fresh delicious vegan food - Edit
The food was so delicious and we were taken such good care of by the owner. All the food, even the salsa was made after we ordered and was delicious, while the owner was welcoming and gracious, and walked us through any food and could not be more kind and attentive. Cannot recommend the vegan cheese enough.

Authentic and Insightful - Edit
If you ever want to have a moment away from the commercial side of the town specially designed to please established habits of tourists, you’ll find solace in this place decorated with the history and culture of authentic Mexico together with healhty, organic, really local, delicous food served in satisfying plates with a variety. It was gerat pleasure to talk to the owner who gave insight of the richness, and nature of the people and land of Mexico and their struggles and hopes diverting from the main-stream narrative. Thank you for the great food and the company!

Racist restaurant - Edit
Would give 1 star if I could but Happy Cow has a minimum of 2 stars when rating a vegan restaurant. This restaurant kicked my friend out of the restaurant simply due to his answer to the question which country he is from. Would not support this business.

Strange experience - Edit
We went there and were the only people. We hadn't booked a food tour and it felt strange that they overexplained everything like we had never even eaten Mexican food in our lives before. Ask first? We just wanted to eat a meal there. If we had wanted a food tour, we would have booked one.

Vegan ingenuity 💚✨ - Edit
Art Libreria is more than just a restaurant. It is a place to connect with likeminded people, where the host Gerardo welcomes you as a friend the minute you step in. The first time I went to see if there was something sweet for takeaway available, and the great taste and texture of the pastry I got made me return the next evening to enjoy dinner. It was a very comforting 3 course all you can eat meal including a delightful soup, rolled tacos and another heavenly vanilla pastry with the most delicious cacao. Gerardo is not only a skilled cook, (his guacamole is first-class) but also a passionate activist, who sources everything locally with the aim to be the change he wants to see in the world. I went back for dinner two more times, combining it on one evening with a cheese workshop, that he offers. I'd recommend that intriguing experience to anyone, as it empowers you to create a splendid cheesy flavour, which may be varied in many ways according to your liking. Of all the spots in Sancris, Artlibreria is definitely the one you shouldn’t miss, if you're looking for sublime authentic Mexican, Pre-Hispanic cuisine in a caring atmosphere.

Can’t recommend enough - Edit
Must go vegan place in San Cristobal. The owner was lovely and explained all about the food and his philosophy. The food is all organic, locally sourced healthy Prehispanic style and it did not disappoint. The guacamole was the nicest I’ve ever had, and all the vegetables were delicious.

Tipica acojida chiapaneca - Edit

Amazing food and experience! - Edit
ART Libreria is amazing! Gerardo makes a lot of different dishes from scratch with only local organic ingredients. We had a very nice cold cocoa drink, guacamole, beans with local herbs, fresh corn tortillas, spicy salsa, fajitas and mole (which is a must try). The setting is really nice too, it’s like a living room where Gerardo cooks, with lots of books and one big table that you share with other people. We had good chats too.

OUTSTANDING - Edit
Gerardo cooks with so much love and passion. This is far from a typical dining out experience - it's like going to his house for lunch/dinner. There is a single large round table for a communal experience. He prepares the food with such care using fresh ingredients. His guacamole is amazing. And he serves organic corn tortillas. He will feed you until you are full - it's not one single dish - it's multiple dishes and all you can eat. He is saving money to buy his own land to grow his own fresh organic ingredients. Eat here! You'll be glad you did.

BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER - all you can eat vegan 🌱 - Edit
Amazing experience here and the most lovely gentleman who runs the homely and cozy restaurant. For 200 pesos we had the most tasty 3 course meal. These courses consisted of lentil soup and potatoes, followed by THE BEST guacamole 🥑, and a cacao mole with a hint of chili. There were lots of crispy tostados served to fill with the various dishes. Finished with the most delightful cacao drink that make our minds ALIVE.
