Delicious

The pasta and quinoa dish were both amazing. We were then given samples of the homemade chocolate which was delicious.

Pros: The owner employs single mothers , He also employs disabled people

Amazing staff & mission

The food was out of this world! The owner came to speak with us about his mission of bringing joy into the universe starting with his very own community

Pros: The environment , The food, The staff

Sensory fulfilment

Ama offers a cozy, romantic ambiance and a menu with diverse vegan, nutritious options. I had one of their wraps, that come with a side salad and soup and was very pleased by its flavour combinations. The service was attentive and kind.

Decent place

A fair amount of vegan options - I got a burrito, a beetroot cake and a banana smoothie. The burrito was about 50% avocado, which was nice but not what I expected. The cake was decent and the smoothie was nice. Probably average price for vegan food in Urubamba

Bad service

This place has so much promise but the service was horrible. The staff were not attentive to us we had to chase them down for questions and they messed up our order and gave everyone the wrong food without saying a word - just threw the plate down and ran off. Food was ok and they have an ok selection of vegan options. But just the stress of dealing with the staff is not worth it.

Healthy vegan options with ambiance, music and kitties 😻

Friendly staff, hippie vibe, music, and healthy options .
We were in two people ,we ordered: one vegan menu combo 25 soles , came with pumpkin soup, lemonade, zucchini sandwich and cookie. We also got the big sandwich The lady, really good.
If you are looking for light health food, this is for you. I loved it!

Ok

I came here for lunch and ordered the oriental bowl. It was served with a small bowl of soup as well. It was an enormous bowl of brown rice with some veg mixed through, served with a tangy passionfuit sauce. Once mixed through the rice I couldn't avoid crunching the passionfuit seeds which was not pleasant. The meal was reasonably expensive (30 soles) and was ok.
Passionfruit drink was delicious (8 soles).
Really I came here because a previous review left a photo of vegan brownies. I was too full from my meal anyway, but as far as I could tell on the menu there were no vegan desserts.

Great spot

Fantastic fresh food in a very chilled environment. Very tasty fresh juice selection. Very accommodating for vegans!
Nice small gift shop, selling hand made soaps and a few other things I didn’t know I needed until I saw them.
I would recommend it to anyone!

Pros: Fresh Local products , Beautiful garden area, Great service

Cons: None

Healthy Vegan Options in Urubamba

Most of the menu options are vegan! The macrobiotic bowl was really good and we asked for some extra sauce on the side at no extra cost. For 12 soles it was pretty filling but the Menu Casero seemed like a bit more bang for your buck (14 soles). The outside seating was really nice and the bathroom was super clean. Of course I've eaten cheaper vegan food in Peru but it was healthy and it was an option!

Pros: Not too pricey, Healthy, Outdoor seating

Cons: Could find cheaper vegan options, Not 100% vegan!

Pricey and the Sunday Menu was not Vegan

Ate there twice and I think the portions are small for me. Second time I had to order extra rice to get satisfied. The outdoor space is nice both times the music was very loud. Service is just on borderline of OK.

Pros: Tasty, Nice outdoor space

Cons: Expensive, Small portions, Loud music

Pricey vegan friendly hippie heaven

We came to Urubamba just to try this hippie heaven and we got mix feelings about the place.
The restaurant is vegan friendly and we ordered a quinoa soup and a veggie curry for 20 soles. We were used to way cheaper prices for bigger amounts of food. We thought that the price to quantity ratio was bad. However, the soup was fantastic! It had lots of flavor and the sunflower seeds were a hit.
The desserts were too expensive even for their one vegan option (14 soles), so we didn't even try it. We also tried the ajonjoli cappuccino which was really not good.

The decor of the restaurant was really beautiful. The seating outside was pleasant aswell.

Pros: Tasty soup, Cozy place

Cons: Overpriced, Not enough vegan options

Delicious food! Great hippie vibe!

We enjoyed a vegan lunch here of tacos, smoothies, and the best vegan brownies ever! A bit pricey, but worth it. They do however list menu items with honey as vegan

Vegan-friendly menu, spacious new location

Kaia Shenai is a classic backpacker joint (right down to the Bob Marley tapestry) in the best sense of the term, with health-consciousness being front-and-center.

Though not a vegetarian restaurant*, Kaia Shenai's menu includes plenty of lacto-veg and vegan options, which are clearly marked on the menu with icons. (Note for vegans: there is actually a dairy-free icon, but honey is not specifically addressed on the menu, so be sure to check with your server).

I tried most of the vegan (or veganizable) dishes, and my favorite was the "Tex-Mex wrap," which I ordered with the added-cost option of blue corn tortillas instead of wheat. The flavor is as great as the color (see my photo). The corn tortillas are a bit fragile, so eating with hands can be a deliciously messy affair, but there's always a fork there for backup if you need it.

Service is friendly and casual, and some of the servers speak English.

Enjoy!

*If you're looking for a purely veg restaurant, try Amores Brujos, on the south side of Plaza de Armas (the main square), a few blocks away.

Pros: Vegan-friendly, health-conscious

Cons: Serves meat

Nice atmosphere and good food

The owner and the customers were all nice here, and I felt very comfortable just hanging out. Most of the things on the menu are vegan or vegetarian. They have a meal of the day for about 20 soles as of May, 2015. I decided to get the Arab Sandwich and a smoothie. Both were very good. I would return here if I am ever in Urubamba again. The prices are high for a small town in Peru (desserts are nearly US$5), but less than you would pay in the USA or Europe.

Pros: Good, flavorful food, Atmosphere

Cons: Prices high for Peru
