This family makes fantastic tacos - Edit
Alma y Sazon = Soul & Seasoning. Was excited to try this place that is located in the Emeryville Food Hall. Was even more excited about it when I met the husband and wife owners who were making the food. They are making her family’s recipes and everything I tried was delicious. You can tell they are really passionate about the food and it’s nice to know who you are supporting. Had the taco sampler with three types of tacos and the beans. So good.

Hit or miss, some items quite bland - Edit
I really wanted to love this place based on the other reviews, but 4 stars is probably a bit generous. We were really excited to have a new all vegan place to try. It was just ok. The elote was good. The al pastor taco was pretty flavorful and spicy. The poboy was quite bland and just not very good. And the flautas were also very underwhelming. There wasn’t much flavor in the filling at all, even though the presentation looked nice.
Read moreThey were completely out of the asada when we went, so maybe that’s better, but I probably wouldn’t make the trip again.
Pros: Some good items
Cons: Bland, Pricey for what you get

New 100% vegan place at Public Market - Edit
Update: went back to try the tacos, flautas and sopesitos. Is this my new favorite place???!! Everything is so fresh and yummy. I can’t wait to go back and bring friends. This time service was much faster, too.
Read moreI only tried the torta (with tofu) and it was great. Good blend of different ingredients.
I’m looking forward to going back to try other things.

Great vegan mexican food! New favorite! - Edit
I love their fried oyster mushroom, torta de Pastor, and their elote! For refreshments they got every Jarritos flavor you can dream of and aguas frescas on deck. Definitely worth the visit to emeryville.

So fresh and tasty! - Edit
I forgot to take pics but their food was incredibly fresh, tasty, and the owners were so sweet!
Read moreThe elote corn was to die for, creamy tasty sauce smeared on corn on the cob. The Po' Boy was delish and filling, as was their great tacos (which were so cheap) and tostada!
My only request is that the elote sauce gets put on *everything* (which I will ask for when I eat there next!), since that tasty creamy/ tanginess can't be missed. Please give them business so we keep a vegan restaurant at the public market!
Pros: Reasonably priced, Delish, Fresh

Wow. Amazing - Edit
The Al pastor was the best Al pastor I ever had. I was waiting for Emeryville public market to have a vegan restaurant and this was worth the wait. Everything was tasty but the Al pastor was something else! Will be back very soon!

SO MUCH FLAVOR! - Edit
Sooo delicious! I ordered the Torta Mexicana and it might be the best torta I've ever had. The protein options seriously have so much flavor! Staff is so kind and welcoming, & the menu is awesome. I'm stoked to come back with my friends to try more!

Will go back for more! - Edit
My boyfriend and I just wanted a little something to try so we went for the chicharrones. It was a bit of a wait but once we got them - oh my! So good. The light crispy batter, the king oyster mushroom inside was tender and the dipping sauce was yum!

Tasty tostadas - Edit
I had the tostadas and they were very tasty!
Read moreThe location is inside of the Emeryville Public Market so it can get a bit loud in the seating area.
Looking forward to going back and trying more of their food. Prices seem very reasonable for the Bay Area.
