I usually don’t give bad reviews but this was my first choice upon arrival in canggu, based on reviews.
Read moreMaybe it was my choice, So make sure to skip the sea salad, it tastes like dirty sea water, and the avocado which was probably my fav ingredient on the entire dish, was overripe.
Cucumber and carrot salad had no seasoning.
Full plate was left aside, staff didn’t even bother to asked why

A friend of mine showed me this place as “that raw vegan place” they’re not completely raw but have loads of options for those wanting something raw. We had the pizza and it was really delicious. Als the dessert section is amazing!Would recommend and come again.

They have loads of different things on their menu, all vegan and some raw things. Their peanut bar is amazing! Had it with a juice which wasn’t the best I’ve had but still very nice.

The taste was okay, nothing special. A friend of mine and me both ordered a salad, she got really sick for a couple of days even needed to go to the hospital and I was feeling bad for one day.

We are sorry to hear that you and your friend were sick . Let me assure you that Alkaline restaurant follows a very strict set of processes and protocols to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of all food that comes out of the kitchen, right from the way vegetables and fruits are cleaned, to how they are cooked. Currently Bali is going through quite a severe spell of weather with alternating heavy rain and hot periods, so the weather has also had an impact on general health.
We have found out that the water supplier had sent us infected water, as their water treatment plant was having issues, that they were unaware of. The problem is now fixed, we have changed our supplier to Indonesi'a biggest brand, Aqua, and also fixed a new UV light in the Kitchen and Bar, to ensure all fruits and vegetables are cleaned with drinkable grade water.
Having said that, we are constantly improving our quality and safety protocols.
We will continue to work on improving ourselves thanks to the feedback that you have given us

We stayed at Serenity for 4 nights and ate all our breakfasts here, as well as several lunches and dinners. Some of the items were tasty (urab sayur, vegan donut, noodle soup, moringa bread, tiramisu ice cream), some were kind of bland and meh (gado gado, strawberry ice cream), and some tasted really questionable (most notably the breakfast juices). I love celery juice, but theirs just tasted...dirty, and something seemed off about several of the other juices too. I wondered if they just juice whatever is about to go bad or has started to go bad, and pawn it off on the breakfast buffet. My husband and I have been traveling thru SE Asia for 3 months, and have been in Bali for almost a month, but never had any GI issues until we ate the food here. We also heard several other people staying at the property complaining about their stomachs. Maybe it wouldn’t have been an issue if we had just had one meal here? I’m not sure, but once we left and stopped eating the food here, our symptoms cleared up within a day. Hey, maybe its just a coincidence and whatever we had just would have run its course in that same amount of time anyway. I hesitate to write a terrible review because I support what they are trying to do, but I do have reservations about the cleanliness and food safety here.

We apologise if the celery juice did not taste as expected, we can assure you that we take great care in using fresh ingredients. Perhaps it is because we use local Balinese celery where the taste is different from imported celery. It is unfortunate that you mentioned about your stomachs, we are constantly improving our quality and safety protocols. If in case it happens again in your travels, do take charcoal, which helps with this.

Im not really into raw food so didnt enjoy the taste and texture of some food and drink here, but I am sure others do. I cannot fault the ethic here and the staff. Breakfast was good here and they can bring you more if you are not full (if you are a guest)

The staff is amazingly friendly, everyone smiles and makes sure you’re happy. There are also a lot of fans on the ceiling which makes it very cosy and chill to hang out. Unfortunately the food is not that tasty. And I tried a lot today, hahaha. It doesn’t taste of much or is watery. The juices taste uuugh and the ice cream is smaller than on the pictures and again it is not that tasty. I mean it is not bad - don’t get me wrong. But do you know that feeling when you’re done eating and you’re full, but not really satisfied.. I wish I could write a different review, but I think this place is overrated.

This place was just down the road from where I was staying and displaying the terms 'vegan' and 'raw', pulled me in immediately. Loved the food, the service and overall serenity of the place. So much goodness to keep coming back to which I had to resist so that I would attempt to try other places.

This place is truly a slice of heaven. The moment you enter this space you feel as sense of calmness and tranquillity. The food is so delicious, reasonably priced and so many options. We are here three times I the four days we spent in Canggu. I recommend the raw tofu balls, the noodle soup and the pumpkin soup. the staff are so lovely too.

We stayed at the eco serenity guesthouse for a week, so got the chance to try out some food at the alkaline restaurant. The place has a fun (healthy, yoga, relaxed) vibe. I loved the curries and the pizza, but that was it. None of the other food items appealed to me. Lot's of cold and raw dishes which isn't my thing.

Straight after ordering the waitress came with the bill before drinks or anything else..(?) A while later our mains (cold!) and in the middle of that they serve us our starter that we had planned to share before the mains, and the spring rolls were boiling hot. The gadu gadu was very bland and watery (even the peanut sauce didn’t cut it which I usually love) and the stuffed tomatoes left a bad taste in your mouth. Of all that Canggu has to offer I wouldn’t waste my time visiting this place again.

Nice place with very friendly staff. There's also a cozy corner at the back where you can sit on bean bags and simple sofas on the floor. Almost all options on the menu are vegan. My favorites are the smoothie bowl, chia bowl, vegan lasagna and the immunity booster juice (with ice on the side). The salad dressings are a bit bland.
