Favourite Lunch Spot - Edit
I work down the street, and my coworkers and I always get Aiyaohno for lunch! Amazing vegan options and it’s run by the kindest human beings! Got a vegan cake from Aiyhaono for my partner’s birthday, it was stunning, and everyone loved it! 💞 Also be sure to order their ramen! Seriously good 🤤

Delicious Hidden Gem - Edit
Food is really good. If you are coming during lunch time it will be busy and a bit of a wait but it is worth it. The only other con is it is in a sketchy neighborhood but absolutely worth it when you taste the food!

The definition of hidden gem - Edit
I would give this 5 starts if I could. One of my favorite meals I had in Vancouver and one of the cheapest! I got the dumpling lunch set and everything was fresh, balanced and homemade. Very comforting and warm. It seems to be owned by a husband and wife and the wife was so friendly and offered warm or hot water which sold me even before I got the food haha. Only con is it's in an office building on a sketchy street and they have to buzz you in so the atmosphere is lacking, but once you sit down to your meal it doesn't seem to matter.

The best vegan/ pescatarian restaurant in downtown - Edit
This place is the cutest spot in downtown to grab vegan/ pescatarian food and drinks. The portions are huge and everything is super filling and extremely delicious. Other cafes or restaurants can make vegan food taste bland but that’s not the case for this cafe. The best part about this cafe is that they use fresh ingredients from their garden, as well as make their own bread which tastes divine. My favourites from this cafe include the smoked salmon sandwich and the yuzu ginger ale, they are a must try. And I can’t wait to try their other dishes and drinks soon. The owners are the nicest couple and they are very passionate about making great quality food and drinks, and really care about their customers😄

Amazing Hidden Japanese Cafe - Edit
This tiny Japanese-style Pescatarian cafe is definitely a new hidden gem! My office is close by so I have visited a couple times now. The owners are super friendly and I love that they are a husband and wife team.
Read moreSo far I have only had a chance to try their drinks (whenever I'm able to get out of the office for a coffee break), and everything I've tried has been amazing! They have unique flavours such as salted sakura latte, Cassis lavender latte, and Yuzu ginger ale, to name a few.
I love that they specialize in Japanese-style vegan & Pescatarian dishes- that particular combination seems to be on the rarer side in Vancouver. I will definitely be back to try their food soon!
Pros: Amazing drinks with unique flavours, Rotating menu made in-house, reasonable prices

Hidden gem - Edit
This tucked away cafe is truly a hidden gem if you're looking for authentic Chinese/Japanese food options. I had the dumpling bowl and cherry blossom latte for breakfast and couldn't be happier. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable about vegan food. You might notice the take-out window first, don't miss the inside seating area in the lobby of the office building (they'll buzz you in).

Affordable and Delicious Plant-Based Food! - Edit
Loved the food here😄Apart from the prices being reasonable despite it being situated somewhat close to the Chinatown core,
Read moreSuper friendly owners, Beverly and Greg. I like that they took the time to get to know us, tell us about their backgrounds and their interesting history in food and beverage. The food was really fresh and delicious. I had the vegan blt sandwich which was filling and had bright and fresh veggies. The bread is made in house without butter and eggs. Really healthy which was a bonus. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian options. My friend had the cold ramen which she really enjoyed. The kinako matcha cookie with walnuts was a revelation, deliciously sweet and flavourful (I did try it again though, and it was sweet, so maybe consistency could be improved). They even gave us free chocolate salted walnut cookie and birdseed cookies, as they were closing and there were leftover cookies. The chocolate one was so rich and delicious for chocolate lovers, and the salt added a nice counterpoint to the sweetness. Texture, flavour and sweetness levels were perfect.
I was pretty stuffed at this point. My friend gave it to her friend. I’m sure it was delicious. I will for sure be back to try their other unique dishes like coconut miso ramen, sushi, and their tasty in-house drinks. It was also pretty quiet when we went on Saturday, and the seating area was nice to chill in. For the quality and care taken to craft the food, this is really reasonable. Can’t wait to be back.
Pros: Affordable, Healthy, Exemplary Customer Service
Cons: Surrounding area is a bit sketchy

Amazing Pescatarian Cafe! - Edit
They are located at the edge of Gastown and Chinatown with a small takeout window. They have really unique drinks like the Salted Sakura Latte and the chilli tan tan ramen was my fave! It was super flavourful. They also do pastries that are usually gf/vegan. I tried the matcha cookie and it was also bomb! Can't believe it's gluten free! There use fresh seasonal ingredients and even ingredients from their own garden. The menu is always changing as well. The vegan sushi roll with king salmon (if you want) was also really fresh and tasty.

So blown away! (friendly owners and good food) - Edit
We (my boyfriend and I) have been wanting to try Aiyaohno Cafe (formally, Iktsuarpok Coffee Stand, which has now moved to Clark Dr. under Oide Coffee) for quite a while now, and today was the day.
Read moreUpon stepping into the building, which you can enter either from Carrall St. (security will let you in) or around the other side, you’re welcomed by Beverly and her husband Greg, which as she says, ‘is the mastermind behind the cafe’. Super friendly and wonderful couple.
The cafe offers a range of pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan options- almost everything can be made or is vegan! From a menu spanning with numerous smoothies, lattes, sushi, bowls, ramen, a burger and pastries. Did I mention, everything (except the ramen noodles) is made in house?
We ended up having the Vegan Dumpling Bowl, Vegan Sushi Roll, Cassis Lavender Latte and Salted Sakura Latte. Everything was fresh, light and the dumplings in the bowl were so tasty. I’ll definitely be back for more!
On Saturdays, they offer free underground secured parking (just off of Carrall St.) and the building is even dog friendly!
They also offer pre-ordering and catering!
Ordered:
Cassis Lavender Latte w/ Oat Milk
Salted Sakura Latte w/Oat Milk
Vegan Dumpling Bowl
Vegan Sushi Roll
Pros: Friendly owners- husband/wife duo, Everything made fresh, Lots of vegan options!!

Very tasty vegetarian food! - Edit
Food is top-notch. The sandwiches are my favourite! They even make their own bread and pickle their vegetables. My other top picks are the wonton bowl and ramen. Fantastic flavours and excellent presentation. Service was great as well. Will definitely be back (:!
