I’ve had banh mi in several countries, including Vietnam, and this one was way up there! If you’re in the area get over here and treat yourself. Owner was very friendly too.

Read moreThe bread is crispy perfection on the outside and soft on the inside, and the fillings on our banh mi were generous. I got the char siu/xa siu BBQ (#2), my mother got the Celestial (#1), and my husband got the breakfast banh mi (#7) and we were all quite happy with what we got! You can request adjustments, like jalapeno amount, and besides the smoothies, they had a nice selection of canned/bottled drinks available as well. I also appreciate that they had some vegan snacks and candy bars by the cash register, which is nice for to go additions, although the banh mi were pretty filling!
They're located inside the vegan donut bistro, and are a separate register (so if you want donuts or a hot drink, you can't get it on one bill, but it's still pretty darn convenient). Shop itself is clean and relatively quiet, so I think it would be good for working or studying. We'll definitely be back!

Solid Vegan Bahn Mi - Edit
Stopped by here on our way back from SJ. We got the spicy lemongrass Bahn Mi and passion peach green tea. It was a pretty small menu, but everything we ordered tasted great. The staff is friendly and service is fast. If I happen to be in the area again, I would stop by.

The sandwiches are epic. Best banh mi sandwich we have ever had!! It is definitely a MUST visit if you are in San Jose. We tried the celestial combination and spicy lemongrass. Both were delicious. If you love lemongrass, definitely get the spicy lemongrass.

Was introduced to this banh mi sandwich place by friend. Me and my partner shared the lemongrass banh mi and the bbq pork one and had the passion fruit tea drink. Owner is sweet lovely lady and her husband. I thoroughly enjoyed the tasty sandwich and drink .

Read moreI love me a good vegan banh mi sandwich and this hits the spot. The owner is very polite and patient. I went for the simple delight option and it was really very good. The food seemed fresh, flavorful and was very reasonably priced. What more can you ask for. I had the lychee zero calorie drink to accompany my sandwich and it was really very good too. Overall, it was a great meal. I will be going back here.

The 'Simple Delight' Banh Mi was truly a delight. Aina and Tri are really amicable and their service is superb. The seating area is also really nice - quite spacious. Can't wait to try their other sandwiches soon.

Wow- fantastic made-to-order vegan banh mi sandwiches. Fresh bread, a few options to choose. I liked the Celestial Combo, but BBQ was also a sensation feeling. The restaurant is a bit of a hole in the wall, and shares space with another restaurant that has donuts and specialty drinks.

Awesome Vietnamese food and awesome people - Edit
This place is inside ‘Vegan Bistro’ which is a donut shop with the Vietnamese counter to the right hand side after you walk in. Two sisters cook and serve banh mi’s and other Vietnamese fare along with smoothies. Their rice (only available on weekends) is excellent. The ladies are so nice and took the time to give advice on how to eat the dishes.

The lovely human at the front desk was such a pleasure to deal with. She explained everything so well. We ordered the cheerful and the simple delight. The roll was still warm it was so fresh! Go here! The donut place next door is incredible and does the best iced coffee.

Located in the same shop as the famed vegan donuts, Aina offers a wonderful and affordable (in this day and age) $10 banh mi that is fully vegan, and they have a lot of options to select from as well.
Read moreI ordered their Ocean Sub - reminiscent of a tuna sub in a toasty baguette with all of the traditional tasting fillings you'd expect from a banh mi. It was immediately love at first bite. The sandwich was excellent especially since I haven't had "tuna" in years, and really reminded me of my childhood. I ate it so quickly that I wish I had ordered another sandwich before leaving and heading back to Santa Cruz where I live.
It's so good that you won't even remember that it's fully plant-based. Aina's banh mi really are the ish and I can't recommend them enough for anybody wishing to explore more plant based options in the South Bay.
Don't forget to order a donut next stall over for dessert.

Really reqlly really good. Bread is so good. Crust is thin and crispy, crumb is soft with a light chew. Mock-meats made in house. Thai basil, which is always awesome. And the price?! Aina Saya she just wants good vegan food to be accessible to people. What a hero.

Very fresh ingredients and very tasty! The Season rolls are a must! The cheerful Xo—Xu Bánh Mì is sooooo good - I loved the BBQ flavor. Overall a really good spot. The people who work here are super friendly. I’m so glad we stopped by when we were passing through San Jose! Will def come back again!

Great food for great value! The banh mis were very impressive and reminded me so much of banh mi that I grew up eating. The owner was also very friendly and allowed me to try both sandwiches (half and half). I loved both! Even if you're not vegan, these were really solid Viet sandwiches!
