so many different options! but expensive - Edit
this is a very good pastry shop, where you can find a variety of typical portuguese pastries, among others, but the prices are a bit high
Read more"bispo" pastry - portuguese pastry, didnt rly love it
"lanche" with eggplant parmegiana filling - very tasty and suuuuper filling. i was expecting a light snack but ended up being a whole meal :)) 7,5€
sintra pillow - portuguese pastry, was very disappointed bc it was dry and not with "eggy" filling :((
"jesuita" - wasnt amazing
shakshuka - very good and filling but lacked protein, 15€
s. joao salad - soooo disappointing, we just ordered it bc it had "bacalhau", which ended up being just cold widrated soy chunks with no flavor!! very misleading, not worth 15€

Cute place, okay food - Edit
It's a very cozy place and has a good variety of food, we only had some pastries but frankly everything was underflavoured and overpriced, in our opinion. Taste wise, can't compete with other vegan pastries in Porto. It was packed with tourists and it seems most people do enjoy the food, so maybe it's just not so much for locals. No hate, just not for me.

Great pastel de nata! - Edit
The best pastel de nata in Porto! Wish they told you the iced coffee is Americano is standard though! Great service.
Read moreUpdate: went back after a week and still the best pastel de nata! Got a coffee with milk this time and it also had whipped cream on, yum! I bought a pizza flavour pie and a cinnamon bun to have for lunch and while both were tasty, I think the pie is a bit pricey for what it is at €7.50.

Nice, but expensive - Edit
Everything was very tasty and service was really good, but I thought the price was too high. What I paid for two coffees and two pastry cakes was almost the price of a lunch buffet in Porto.

Amazing and huge selection of vegan pastries in the counter, but also the best vegan brunch menu I’ve ever seen! Eggs Benedict, brioche French toast, ricotta toast - it was too hard to choose!

Perfect sweets but a bit special for the hearty food - Edit
We had a nice vegan brunch there. The kind of sweet breads (the dough of the Calzone or the Toast) was not our favorite but we think its typically portugese.

THE BEST! - Edit
This is, by far, my favorite place in Oporto. Everything is excellent. The food is made at the moment and the ingredients have a lot of quality. Seriously, delicious. Portions are huge, be awere. And every detail… tap filtered water in glass bottles for free and cloth napkins! And don’t even make me start with the staff, they are lovely, everyone of them. I saw them check everything a thousand times for a girl with allergies, serve families, couples... and all with the same kindness and joy. And they have one of the best coffees I ever had. You must go!

The best vegan Pasteis de Nata in Portugal - Edit
A Pacoda’s Pasteis de Nata are award winning and I can taste why! We had some delicious ones from other places but no contest at all, as theirs was just divine! The range of vegan croissants and pastries were delicious (tried a few) too.
Read moreThe brunch mains we had though, whilst sounding incredible on the menu and looking fantastic, weren’t anything special flavour wise, only ‘ok’. Service was also very slow and completely forgot about our table a couple of times (didn’t come and take our order but did for other tables arriving well after us, and even forgot our coffee order completely).

Overrated - Edit
I was unfortunately quite disappointed with this place after all of the great reviews it had.
Read moreI’ll start with the positives. The food was tasty enough, the portions were really large, the menu has a decent choice of inventive dishes.
That being said, everything is wildly overpriced. The prices of the brunch dishes are the kind of prices I expect to pay in London, but not in Porto. Also, €14 for a milkshake is obscene. I also can’t understand paying €7 for a vanilla latte. I honestly was shocked given I’ve had some absolutely outstanding meals in other fully vegan establishments in Porto for far less, and I wasn’t that impressed here.
In addition, service was pretty slow and our drinks were forgotten till we asked the waiter. And there were a lot of flies inside.
I do wonder if just getting their pastries to take away would be a good shout, but I would not come back to eat in.
Ally307
I totally agree and I am glad that someone is finally mentioning the price! I was in shock. €15 for a pastry and €14 euros for a milkshake? I couldn’t believe my eyes… their sister branch in comparison sells their milkshakes for €4.50 and pastries for 2.50.. So it seems to be possible

Best vegan restaurant that I have been to - Edit
A Padoca is the best vegan place that we have ever been to - and we have been vegan for many years. The Eggs benedict and Paleo were amazing (perfect balance of flavors and on top everything most probably made from scratch) and very filling so we have asked for pastels de nata, pistachio croissant and savory big mack and ricotta & spinach pockets as a take away. The place is very cozy and tasteful, the people who work there are extremely nice and helpful. We are definitely recommending this place to all our friends - it is worth coming to Porto only for eating here.
