really tasty and big menu - Edit
It's really good. They've got a separate vegan menu which is as big as the other menu. My main complaint is that as we came in nobody offered us the vegan menu and if you get the other menu there's nothing labelled vegan, you wouldn't know they do it, and another person would not even be tempted to try the dishes.

Huge vegan menu - Edit
Their vegan menu is nine pages long! So many options including mock meats and tofu. I had satay skewers and tofu Sichuan with fried rice. Highly recommend it for some actual choice for a change! Plus it's in a very old building near the castle so very atmospheric. It's on the expensive side but worth it and there were more Chinese people eating in there than Caucasian so I think it's probably authentic.

Wide vegan selection - Edit
1423 have vegan options in the back of their menu. The staff are very welcoming and the food is always tasty. I have visited several times and have never been disappointed!

Ordered a delivery from here. The menu on Uber eats was extensive with dedicated vegan menu. Food was really good. Only complaint was that the Uber eats menu does not contain spring rolls even though they are on the printed menu (which came with the delivery).

Ordered takeaway a couple of times. The fake meats are very good, great to be able to have veganised versions of authentic Chinese foods. My only niggle is that is really expensive.

There was an overwhelming choice. I had the vegan lemon chicken and vegan chicken balls with curry sauce. They was just like the non vegan versions I remember. We visited the restaurant itself near the castle and would definitely recommend it

Quite possibly one of the best takeaway experiences I have ever had, certainly the most expensive at over £50! Price aside, you can expect top quality authentic Chinese food. We shared the satay chicken skewers, chef's special red-braised vegan 'pork', vegan Beijing soybean paste noodles with chips and rice. The satay chicken skewers were quite simply amazing with such depth in flavour and an excellent texture. Definitely the best skewers and sauce I have ever had. The vegan pork was stunning, well seasoned and so flavourful, while the soybean paste noodles were delicious, particularly the paste but there were a few too many cucumbers for my liking, which I left. Would I return again? Most definitely YES.
