Vegan

Gary Yourofsky turned me vegan. Before him I became vegetarian naturally from gut feeling that something was wrong. I didn’t know much about farmed animals or that abuse could even be a thing. That one part in his speech where the animals were being beaten and killed was some of the most traumatic things I’ve seen that happens in real life. The shock was also that you could see the life fading from their eyes and body. I went vegan and failed in getting enough calories and nutrition without the knowledge. Every year of being vegan is easier and would recommend that learning how to eat vegan the right way will make being vegan a freeing and happy way of life. Being vegan for the animals isn’t for us to benefit from but it still opens our world up to so much more than we would get following social norms Benefits most of us did not see coming: -replacing animal products gets you into food science -your skills in planning and cooking will grow -you are forced to become independent and resilient in social situations -you learn about your body’s health and the nutrition in plants -you learn about farmed animals that was never taught to you before -cutting down on toxic ingredients that might be plantbased because your used to reading food labels to check if it’s vegan -animals will gravitate towards you - you save more of earths resources than before - gateway to caring more about the environment - can tell what’s in people’s hearts or what’s going through their mind -seeing rescued animals in pure bliss
