Quasi-vegan since the early 80’s after witnessing the real life horrors of man’s abuse of animals - particularly the factory farming etc as depicted in ‘The Animals Film’. I use the term ‘quasi-vegan’ to reference the day to day difficulties encountered as I endeavoured to follow a vegan diet & lifestyle in a world blindly obsessed with the consumption of animals & birds & fish and associated by-products. Identifying as vegan back in the 1980’s provoked bewilderment & ridicule and the contemptuous dismissal of the vegan as crackpot eccentric.
