I think your fears about the area where the restaurant is located are unfair and a sign of prejudice against people with a different skin color. I have been to Sai Sagar dozens of times and it is no less safe than any other place in Guangzhou. Granted, service is nothing great. But that's pretty common here in Guangzhou. The reason to come here is solely for the food, and it's authentic and very, very good. The buffet isn't huge, but everything that's offered is delicious. And the waiters do bring as much piping hot chapatis to the table as you want. I've brought many friends to this strictly vegetarian restaurant and even the meat eaters love it. So, if you're looking for atmosphere, search elsewhere. If you're in the mood for great Indian food, Sai Sagar is a real gem.
