Typical German and many vegan options - Edit
This is a typical German kitchen. Almost everything is fried. The first page of the menu is vegan. There are many vegan options. Starters, main courses and desserts are all vegan. The garlic bread is super tasty! Just like the fried breaded mushrooms with garlic cream. The German Schnitzels are made from soy pieces. They are large pieces. For that price I did not expect that. And it tastes good too. The staff is super friendly. We parked the car at Aldi süd where you can park for two hours for free. From there it is a 4 minute walk. At Aldi süd you can do your shopping right away because there are many vegan options.

The vegan schnitzel comes with a delicious side salad, and a full serving of fries. Definitely get the mushroom cream sauce! They have a full vegan appetizer and entrée menu as well as ice cream or chocolate cake for dessert. Their wine list is quite nice as well. The owner will gladly talk to you through the menu and any seasonal offerings they have. We got lucky without a reservation, but I would strongly recommend calling before because our table for two was the only one not reserved.

When I arrived without a reservation and they were full - they found a place for me to sit and eat. Reservations recommended! The food was sehr sehr gut! Ganz lecker! I had the tomato cream soup, a salad and schnitzel. For dessert- chocolate cake and ice cream. The chef was welcoming, warm and charming and the service was great. Don’t miss this 5 ⭐️ gem.

Überraschend lecker zubereitete vegane Gerichte. Wir hatten das panierte Bigsteak mit Pommes, Champignonsoße und Salat und die Panzerotti (gefüllte Teigtasche mit Spinat, Zwiebeln, Knoblauch und Vkäse). Als Dessert hatten wir das Schokotörtchen mit Vanilleeis und frischem Obst. Die Portion war genau richtig und das Essen durchweg lecker, nicht zu fettig oder überwürzt. Und das zu einem unschlagbaren Preis.

Also nicht von äußerlichem (sieht außen wie innen aus wie eine gutbürgerliche Gaststätte/Kneipe) abschrecken lassen, sondern unbedingt ausprobieren! Wir haben erst gezögert, ob wir es ausprobieren sollen (das ist nicht unsere bevorzugte vegane Küche), haben es aber definitiv nicht bereut!

They offer an entire vegan menu with delicious German options. They have a very creative menu with several vegan options to include appetizers, main dishes and desserts. We had the vegan schnitzel and although it was quite large, we ate it all because it was so good. The mushroom appetizer was delicious. I didn't have enough room for dessert so I will be back to try everything on the vegan menu. The service and atmosphere was also very good and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend eating here.

Das Essen hier ist einfach grandios! Es gibt eine vegane Standardkarte basierend aus verschieden Vor-, Haupt- und Nachspeisen. Zusätzliche variiert das Angebot regelmäßig und einzelne neue Gerichte kommen immer wieder hinzu. Man merkt, dass der Koch sich darum bemüht neue vegane Produkte auszuprobieren und leckere Speisen zu kreieren. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und trotzdem günstig. Absolute Empfehlung!

What a fantastic surprise to find such a vegan friendly option in the small town of Kaiserslautern! I had been avoiding German food restaurants thinking they would not be vegan friendly - here was the perfect spot to enjoy local fare & atmosphere in a plant based way. The bulgur patties were not the best I’ve had but the croquettes and sauce were fantastic. Affordability and unpretentious village vibes were a big plus too. Would go again anytime.

Hidden gem in Kaiserslautern - Edit
We discovered this great spot in Kaiserslautern. The chef was so nice and helpful. He helped us translating the menu and made sure we enjoyed our meal. It was tasty and budget friendly. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to try some German and vegan cuisine !

We live in Kaiserslautern and visit the restaurant regularily. It's excellent, and the staff is very friendly. They have a seperate vegan menu which is updated once a month.

This cafe-like restaurant is charming because it felt so German to us. There was a seperate vegan menu with all kinds of dishes and the chef even came out to explain some of them. They are clearly "veganized" versions of regular dishes, using mock-steak and vegan cheese. Very tasty, however some dishes were quite salty. Maybe that's just German cuisine? They also keep refreshing the menu with new options. We enjoyed our dinner enough to come back a second time!

Great! We had dinner there a week ago and given the location (Kaiserslautern!), I was more than surprised to find an excellent separate vegan menu. This is not your run-of-the-mill curry/Thai etc place: they do have unique vegan creations. The panzerotti was great. I've never had something like it before. The tofu in a sour white sauce was also great and unusual, and the bulgur/roast veg meal another friend had was also great, only the risotto was nothing special. The vibe is "provincial neighbourhood pub from the 1950s". Brilliant place. Should have five stars, but because they also serve meat, Happy Cow will only allow a maximum of four. Almost worth a visit to Kaiserslautern.
