Organic vegan restaurant opened 2013 replacing the previous restaurant Nova. Meals are based on macrobiotic principles with vegetables sourced from its own farm as well as other local producers. Example of dishes: quinoa salad, bbq seitan cordon bleu, penna pasta, falafel, and baked tofu. Smoothies, tea, coffee, ice cream, cakes and other desserts available. English is spoken and on the menu. Offers two rooms of seating. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-23:00. Kitchen open 12-9pm. Closed Sun.

This was the cutest place to find hidden among many buildings on the street and near some construction. But inside their hidden courtyard is a great restaurant with an ivy roof to the sky.

We had a lovely dinner full of textures and unique options and decadence. But dessert really left us wondering if it came from the same restaurant. We ordered tiramisu that was like a dry cake and cheesecake which tasted like an unseasoned block of tofu.

A Rare Veganic Restaurant - Edit
We came to this upbeat minimalist cafe with wooden furnishings on a Monday evening. We nearly walked past it as it requires going into a courtyard area off-street. There were other customers here but it was only at 20% capacity.
Read moreOur meal opened with a lovely Zrno Mezze and a rare chance to have vegan and organic ajvar - a delicacy in this part of the world! As we later learned, Croatians are master bread bakers and it showed in the mezze spread.
We ordered two mains: the Cordon Bleu was interesting with chicken-like texture and the breaded tofu was decent with its thick soy sauce dressing. Neither dish was anything to shout about but I was glad to be having relatively healthy food compared to most other restaurants.
I ordered a hot lemonade to accompany my meal - it would be nice if you had a cold in cold weather but didn't quite work for a summer evening.
We finished our meal with a brownie and mango ice cream - again a rarity to be having these foods made from organic ingredients and without worry that it's contaminated with animal exploitation.
Overall, a good restaurant but not my favourite in Zagreb. Still, give them your support if you're short of ideas on where to eat.

Was looking forward to trying the restaurant as I enjoyed their grab-and-go items that I had picked up at the bio&bio Martićeva shop. The space is pleasant and other diners seemed to be enjoying their food, so I may have just ordered the wrong things. I was in need of a protein boost so went for the Mega Protein plate and it just lacked imagination and finesse as it was big chunks of tempeh, tofu, and seitan that kind of lacked innate flavoring and were kind of a slog to get through. Also tried their Artisan Sourdough Bread and the breads were just ok, not bakery quality. Giving them an extra star just because they’re all vegan and organic and things come from their own farm and other dishes may be better.

Fully vegan restaurant, huge choice, healthy tasty locally sourced food, friendly staff. Soo much choice, I ended up having the falafel plate (falafel, salad, pesto sourdough toast with creamy cashew dressing), with a blue matcha drink.

We had the bruschetta, cesar salad, and cordon bleu. All light delicious and fresh. Pricier than other places but worth it. For desert we had Hungarian cake and the tofu cake; the Hungarian cake especially was a highlight.

We enjoyed this place very much on our first night in Zagreb. Even though it markets itself as organic and healthy, the food is quite tasty, and it was a welcoming spot in the older part of Zagreb during a rainy late summer Saturday evening. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with beer options. We had the bruschetta, greenpeace pasta, and caesar salad. and I would rate them in that order. Food was notable for it’s freshness and inventiveness. For instance my pasta had shredded tofu on top, which was unusual but good! If you are in Zagreb give this place a try!
