Always walk out the store feeling really full😄 - Edit
We love how simple the daily menu is which consist of brown rice, array of well cooked vegetable stiryfry combinations sometimes implementing tofu , a legume stew option sometimes a starch like melloco or the small papas combined beautifully with other things that can often reflect the ecuadorian culture in a "veganized" version.Of course the options to choose from are different each day so its always a suprise what they have to offer and has become a MUST GO everytime we visit Ibarra.
Read moreAlso it comes with a soup, a drink usually with very little sugar added(with the option to add more of course from a natural source called panela which is a cane sugar )
They also offer a fried option which we always love that can range from a breaded tofu to bolones yet again another traditional veganized ecuadorian inspiration that we were finally able to enjoy.
As its a "vegetarian restaurante" sometimes their fried option will have eggs in it and also their pastries they sometimes offer.
The lighting is a little dark but is quickly overlooked by the local family friendly atmosphere of the environment, my kids love going to Zen Wei for the people that work there and their children aswell.
Pros: Affordable tasty cuisine, Great atmosphere , Always feel really full 😋
Cons: Lighting?, No vegan pastries/desserts

Dangerous Place to Eat - Edit
Cooks clearly don't understand food safety. Hot water served in plastic cups even when they have ceramic cups to serve it in. When I politely pointed out that it was toxic and I'd like to have hot water in a ceramic cup, they simply poured the toxic water into a ceramic cup. I just gave up and didn't use the water. They then just ignored me and refused to serve me food.
Read moreThere's no telling what they prepare your food in. I heard a microwave bell several times and they clearly think heating food in plastic is safe.
Cons: Food safety awareness, Anti-science

Quick and good food. Rapido y bueno comida. - Edit
Zen Wei serves 'el almuerzo' - set lunch. Option of white or brown rice; and (for $2.50) three other food options - most are vegan. You are then given soup; choice of soya or fruit drink and popcorn. Great if you are hungry and in a hurry.

Menu buffet - Edit
