Riquissimo

El restaurante es muy acogedor y el servicio es muy amable y atento. Las porciones son bastante grandes y además te sirven tapas y infusiones de cortesía. Volvería 100%.

Pros: tapa de cortesía y infusiones de cortesía.

unbelievable menu to chose from

they have basically everything you can think of, and the weird part is, it all tastes awesome! menu with several courses from 15-20 euro, you barely finish.my favorite part: their deserts!

Pros: best value for money in town

Cons: I did not find any downsides after 5 visits!

Fresh, generous, polite staff

I ordered a paella vegetariana which was very good. It was served with an accompanying sauce and a small fried fritter, with a salad and with bread and a complimentary mint tea after the meal, all included for 10 €50. I also took a non-alcoholic beer.
The staff was polite and nice.
Apart from the front room, there is another room at the back.

Pros: Generous shares, Moderate price, Polite staff

Nice restaurant

Nice restaurant at the centre of Madrid.
The "menu del dia" is a little bit expensive (15euro) but the food portions are generous. English Menu.

Leaves me doubtful

A small place with a very vast menu. The food is massively tasy
The two things above leave me with the doubt that the food might be pre-cooked.
They offer a vegan option for the most of their dishes, but the shocking cocktail of flawours doesn't allow to be sure of what yuo are eating.

Pros: Vast menu, Vegan options

Cons: Undefined flawour, Are vegan options really vegan?

Excellent! Must try

I'm truly impressed: one of the best vegan meals I have ever had for only 12€ (with the daily menu)! You can choose between a vast variety of dishes but the ones in the daily menu are 'only' 5 and all vegetarians with vegan options: it includes an appetizer, the main meal, a dessert, a drink ( and water) and a digestive tea/infusion.
Everything, from the ingredients to the presentation, was very well-finished. The portions were abundant so by the time I go out I was super full.
We had to wait a little bit but the waiter was super nice with us.
Wish I can come back here again next time I visit the capital.

Pros: Vast variaty, Cheap menú del día , Nice waites

Cons: Small place

Delicious

Great food and beautifully presented. €10 at lunch gets you a drink, bread, one main plate and a dessert

Pros: Loads of choices. Accommodates vegans and celiacs.

Cons: It's not cheap but I wouldn't say it's expensive e

mixed feelings

Ingredients in our salads were fresh and varied ... Perhaps too varied for my taste ... About ten different ingredients and three types of dressing. Our soup was also overdressed. I believe that "less is often more" and the skills of the creative chef would be better displayed with a reign on his/her enthusiasm

Pros: fresh ingredients and helpful staff

Cons: busy and very noisy

Mouthwatering- You Can't Miss It!

Incredible food, large portions, delightful service, and a lovely atmosphere made this the highlight of my vegan dining in Madrid- and, in fact, in all of Spain!

I had the immense pleasure of eating the Menu of the Day (€20) here for lunch, and with the mouthwatering starter, entree, main, juice, and dessert, it was worth every cent.

About half the menu is vegan, and there are so many amazing completely cruelty-free options that it's almost overwhelming! I will have to come back on my next trip to Madrid to enjoy all the things I missed out on.

I arrived without a reservation and the staff were kind enough to make sure I got a spot anyway. They then looked after me as though I was their absolute priority, and I noticed this was the way they treated everyone. Just lovely.

Then came the food- Oh. My. Goodness. Words can't describe how tasty it was. The little starter was just gorgeous, and packed with so much flavour that I didn't know how they'd fit it all in. I then had the risotto, which was, hands-down, the best risotto I've ever eaten at a restaurant. By now I was filling up, but there was so much more to come!

Next came the seitan steak with tomatoes and onions, and the flavour in this dish was amazing. Whilst I didn't love the actual seitan, the braised tomato and onion topping more than made up for it, as did the side of salty, delicious potatoes and fresh, crunchy cabbage that had been soaked in something marvellous. Really balanced and well done.

This was followed by dessert, for which I chose a tangy mango custard with a forest fruit medley. Whilst I like my desserts a touch sweeter, it was a refreshing end to a beautiful meal.

I was then served a lovely cup of tea that helped me digest all the amazingness.

My whole meal took me nearly two hours, as there was so much food to enjoy and I was very full. The staff never once pressured me to leave, even though the restaurant was packed, and they were always available, warm, and friendly when I needed them.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, and would easily take people here to treat them to some amazing veg food.

Pros: Mouthwatering, creative variety of food, Lovely staff and service , Huge, gorgeously-plated portions

Cons: On the expensive side, but worth every cent

Great Restaurant!

Came here for lunch one afternoon and left feeling very full and very satisfied! Small place in the centre of Madrid, bright, fun interior, and friendly staff. Our server helped translate the menu of the day for us, which included starter, main & dessert, bread and a drink. I had this amazing 2-pot soup, which was so filling and packed with delicious veggies, pasta, veggie sausages. I also had the tiramisu for dessert, which was outstanding. My partner had a veggie burrito that he struggled to finish, despite the fact that he has a huge appetite. They had a really interesting menu, lots of choice, and great value. I would definitely eat here again.

Pros: Excellent food, Great Value, Lovely, helpful staff

full of American vegetarians

This place is tiny and it was packed with American vegetarians like myself. The staff spoke really limited English but everything was clearly labeled on the menu as vegan and gluten free. They really understood celiac and gluten free diets.

Nice and central restaurant

I was there at lunch time today, just when they opened. A lady indicated that we could sit where we liked. The place filled up quickly with mostly locals.

The menu was in English except for the Menu del Dia, but the friendly waiter did his best to translate, and he spoke English. The pineapple juice was freshly made and the beer cold and tasty.

We tried the menu del dia (1 drink included and 3 courses: 13 euro), you have a choice of 3 dishes for each course. We got a fried chickpea ball as appetizer, a very nice and tasty gazpacho and a mean dish consisting of a lot of grilled vegetables, salsa's and more. Good, but too much for. So we skipped dessert, and the waiter did not charge for the extra drink we ordered, which was very friendly.

Pros: Large menu, Convienent Location, Menu in English

Cons: Portions are very large-but can be a pro

Average

If you think this is haute cuisine you have probably only ever eaten at a roadside truck stop; however it is reasonable and nicely presented food (the interior is reminiscent of a motorway service area however, so who knows).

Not the most friendly of welcomes - the waiter didn't seem to have much patience with the fact we didn't speak Spanish. I realise this isn't Barcelona and not everyone speaks English but at least pretend to be pleased to see us. Fortunately the menu was in English so we knew what everything was and there was a good choice. It wasn't clear however what was a starter and what was a main and there seemed to be no order to the large menu. As a result we ordered what I can only assume were two mains each, without question by the waiter. While these were all OK, it was too much food. We were also given some bread which we assumed was complimentary but we were of course charged for it.

Plenty of vegan choice to go at - I had some mixed skewers with vegan 'prawns', peppers and tofu, served with noodles and guacamole and a dip. This was very nice except the dip (which tasted 'fizzy' and off) and it was good to get some vegan prawns. To follow I had a seitan steak which was OK, if a bit dry, served with some very bitter green peppers which I didn't eat and some red cabbage. This was nice enough but I wouldn't choose it again. My partner had burritos which he enjoyed and then risotto which he likened to pot noodle. Drinks were fruit juices - I had one with beetroot in which tasted watered down and very bland.

Overall it wasn't a great experience and much better value was to be had elsewhere in Madrid. Certainly not as good as expected, but we weren't left feeling hungry.

Pros: Good choice, Large portions, Well presented, Good location

Cons: Drab interior, Unfriendly, Mediocre food, Confusing menu

Excellent food, large portions

Simple bright decor. Bit of a Mexican vibe in menu. As we were ordering, a fabulous appetiser was brought to the table - an aubergine tempura with a lovely lemony drink. Huge menu. We shared a starter - "mexican rolls" with guacamole and other side salads. Then we had a veg moussaka and a "pumpkin pie". All the food was really tasty and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and helpful. And a free mint tea to finish. 32 euro total including our drinks. We would definitely go back.

Huge portions with tons of vegans choice

I enjoyed a huge but well priced daily menu here one evening last week. The food was generous and tasty and there was heaps of vegan choice. The service was polite but not very friendly.

Great food, lots of delicious looking dishes.

Myself and my boyfriend went to this restaurant Saturday past. It's located within walking distance of Plaza Mayor and Plaza Puerta del Sol. The restaurant is easily found, but gives off the feeling of being tucked away from the bustle of Madrid's busy streets.

We found the ménu del día to be a little pricey (€20/person), so we opted to order some dishes from the menu to share. It was difficult to decide because there we so many incredible looking dishes.

LOTS of vegan & gluten-free options on the menu (as well, many dishes can be changed to suit your needs).

The menu has an English translation for anyone who doesn't read Spanish.

Tip: try the tempura eggplant it's incredible and big enough to share!

Take a look at the review of this restaurant on my blog:
http://comoperderseenespana.wordpress.com/2014/11/11/my-two-cents-yerbabuena/

Pros: Lots of vegan/gluten-free options, Atmosphere, Location

Cons: Ménu del día is a little pricey

Absolutely the Best!!!

This little but cozy restaurant in Madrid saved me during the time I was there!! There are some other vegeterian restaurants but not many vegan. The owner knows very well the difference and try to please you. The food is awesome and I give them a 10 for taste and 10 for presentation.
One night I felt bad from my stomach and my husband went there to buy me an infusion. The owner gave him a big glass to go and did not wanted to charge anything for it.
During our 9 days in Madrid we probably went there 5 times!!
It is not easy to be vegan in Madrid!!
Thanks Bienvenido (owner) for your excellent food and service!!

Pros: taste and presentation, service, cozyness

Cons: NONE

Gluten-Free plus veg!

So happy to find this lovely little place with choices for both our needs. The portions are so large we should have only ordered one main digs plus a salad.
Fruit salad was fresh and delicious, smoked tofu entree was a stack of tofu, eggplant and potatoes, with great flavor. My spouse was delighted to have gluten-free options. Would have loved to have tried the desserts, they looked wonderful, but we were stuffed with our enormous lunch. The yellow and green interior is very cheerful. Highly recommended ! But be hungry when you go there.

Pros: Very friendly staff, Easy to find, Great. Aloe and flavor

excellent

Only at the half menu, first time, I'm sure I'll return this weekend and in the future. The vegan lasagna was excellent, my fussy carnivore partner also devoured the non vegan version ( normal cheese is the only difference ) recommend central place to eat with most of the menu offering vegan options! Seconds from plaza mayor!

Pros: €10 for a main, tea and dessert
