El menú es bastante extenso donde puedes elegir un primero y un segundo de toda la carta. Los platos son caseros, abundantes pero el restaurante es bastante normalito. El personal es muy amable y atento

We made reservation a month in advance for New Years Eve. They cancelled it last week without any explanation why. After mailing them and asking them for an explanation they never replied back.

Amazing pasta - Edit
I had an amazing creamy pasta which didn’t leave me hungry. I wanted to finish the whole because it was so good but couldn’t manage. The interior gives no cozy expression but it works for a lunch. A lot of vegan options or dishes that can be made vegan!

Family friendly with many vegan options. - Edit
Vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options. Our family of 5 ordered the Caesar salad with no cheese or yogurt. It’s not your traditional Caesar but was a meal in itself. It had some pieces of pasta and various vegetables along with various types of lettuce. We also ordered a dish with various cooked vegetables rolled up, like a large burrito, with a pancake. It was good but filling. Would easily serve 2 adults. Dessert options were brought out in a tray with about 8 different mousse and puddings. We tried 2 (chocolate/vanilla and coffee) and they were fabulous, all vegan.

Not to be missed - Edit
I've been eating in this restaurant since I wasn't vegan or even vegetarian, which is a lot of years now. Their cuisine has been always been extraordinary, delicious and so nicely plated. You can choose among a lot of vegan options, plus almost all (if not all) vegetarian dishes can be made vegan. Not to mention the servings are really, really big. It's a bit pricey but they have a daily meny at lunchs which is very affordable. Besides it's centrally located by Plaza Mayor.

The restaurant is clean and welcoming and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The spinach burger is phenomenal and the kids loved their spaghetti and wonderful selection of desserts. The overall experience was the best we’ve had in Madrid. Completely recommended.

I came for the vegetable paella... - Edit
.... and I left satisfied!! If I were to critique it very closely, I'd say the flavour was a little too vinegary / briny (perhaps from the artichokes) compared to other veg paellas I've had. But it certainly hit the spot. The deep fried oyster mushrooms, however, were absolutely incredible and came with two distinct dips and I wouldn't change anything about them. The house white wine was nice, and they seem to have a variety of local / eco drinks available. I'd like to go back and try their nachos!

Wow! - Edit
Incredible presentation and such tasty food! Staff are lovely and we were given complimentary starters and a side salad with the two dishes we ordered. I had the cannelloni which was incredible - spinach and courgette in a coconut sauce in the pasta, encased in tempura batter with cheesy potatoes underneath! Never had anything like it before. Brother had the veggie paella which he was delighted with. Great location within moments of Plaza Major.

Delicious and plentiful! - Edit
The starters and mains are really big portions. I could not have had the daily menu because a first and second portion would have been way too much. The paella was good but not amazing. The quesadilla was delicious but the cheese a little overbearing.

Sin duda el peor restaurante vegetariano que encontré en Madrid .

Great spot for vegans - Edit
Really big servings (we got a starter to share and it definitely would have been to big for one person!) the food was all really yum, well flavoured and reasonably priced. The only negative was that there was a great range of gluten free options on the menu, but when I ordered most of them weren’t available gf so there was just one starter and one main. They were both delish though!

Worth fitting into your schedule - Edit
This is one of many places in Madrid that is only open for a brief set of hours for lunch each day. While that can be a challenge, Yerbabuena-Bordadores is worth it! Really nice food, and great service in a cute little storefront right by Plaza Mayor. The food was tasty, creative, and presented beautifully. They are doing a great job even if only for a few hours a day.

The best experience in Madrid - Edit
If you are ever in Madrid, don't miss out on this place, a stone's throw from Opera metro station. Went there without expectations and was totally mindblown. Great atmosphere, cosy place, excellent food all around: presentation, quality and quantity and very friendly staff. The menu has all the nutritional/allergens information and they use vegan cheese. We were served by a gentleman who, in spite of speaking very little English, went above and beyond to attend guests who didnt speak Spanish.
Read moreHad the weekly menu, where you you can choose from 3 starters and 2 mains; almost all vegan, some options with cheese. On top of that you get a choice of 7 different vegan desserts and a digestive tea.
All in all, a wonderful experience. Definitely going back!
On a side note: even though they have fair/good reviews on this site, Sanisimo restaurant could learn a thing or two about proper food serving/customer service from the people at Yerbabuen
Pros: Food quality & quantity, Staff, Atmosphere
Cons: none

Large portions - Edit
This centrally located restaurant surprised me with their quantity.. I ordered the menu especial, and at first thought the salad was the main course as it was so large. I was too full to have much of the main course when it came, so saved it for the next day. The salad was a sauteed spinach Catalan style. The entree was homemade seitan steak with tomato and onion.Dessert was a mousse. I enjoyed it all. Menu is extensive, and in English. Service was nice.
