One of the few places that offers balanced vegan meals for a fair price. I have introduced this place to friends who visit Amsterdam for the first time. They always appreciate the local atmosphere, the coziness, and the quality of the food.

In a city where a lot of places offer the same stuff it's refreshing to see a completely different menu. Even the drinks are all made in house and you can definitely taste it!

Discovered this great rest./corner when visiting Zuidoost. Such a relief to finally eat pom again, or have the possibility to eat real Surinam roti, Saoto soup etc. The food was very tasteful, with taste you can’t find in other vegan restaurants in The Netherlands. The bread/pita was homemade, makes you wonder why this isn’t the case more often? Staff was extremely friendly and the place itself looked great. Worth they detour to Reigersbos, I’ll be definitely visit this place again for sure. 👍

Tasty and convenient - Edit
Most (vegan) restaurants are located in the city centre. That's great if you happen to live there. But if you're travelling and craving food on the go it's a hassle to enter a city centre and find a parking spot. So the primary reason to select Yemaya's Vegan Corner was the location. It's in the far outskirts of Amsterdam with free parking just around the corner. On arrival I found out the free car park ("Holendrecht en Reigersbos Garage") to be the dirtiest,shadiest and narrowest I've ever navigated, but it was only for a short visit.
Read moreYemaya's Vegan Corner is located on the next corner and thus very easy to find. The restaurant looks cosy and welcoming. However, it has only 12 seats so you may have to settle for takeout anyway. Corona QR-code check was strict, which gives me the reassuring feeling that this restaurant operates safely and by the rules.
I ordered the "Sweet and Sour Tofu on pita bread". Yemaya is not a fast food restaurant, so it was made just for me which took about 10 minutes. The meal was rich and tasty without using too much salt or oil. Excellent! Besides the tofu there was a wide variety of vegetables, making it healthy as well. Even the quality of the bread was far above average.
As a little extra I had the tastiest slice of banana bread ever. Both meals were more than reasonably priced (read: cheap). Reason enough to visit Yemaya again when feeling hungry and passing the city of Amsterdam!
Pros: easy to reach (and park) by car, cheap, tasty without too much oil or salt

MY FAVORITE VEGAN RESTAURANT IN THE NETHERLANDS! - Edit
Yemaya is my favorite vegan restaurant in the Netherlands. The owners are VERY nice and that alone brings such a positive vibe to the store. One important thing I love about their restaurant, is that some of their meals come with Surinamese greens (which are very healthy)! Their cheeseburger is very good too, and they offer a student discount.
