Service - We orded takeaway (unrated)
Quality - This is a hard one for me to rate since it is what I'm guessing the most authentic chinese food I've ever had and I didn't really know what I'd like. I ordered the Fried Crispy Noodle with Mixed Vegetables (Fried Rice #5) and this was a bit of a miss for me. The crispy noodles lived up to their name but were pretty flavorless. The mixed vegetables were good but half of it was mushrrooms (4 variety) and I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms. That caught me a bit off guard from the picture in the menu which didn't show so many mushrooms. My SO ordered some other things which were very tasty and wonderful though. I think one of them was the deep-fried beancurd sheet (main dish #5), and then the other thing might've been the Lotus root and wheat gluten in sweet and sour sauce with rice (fast meal #E). I loved those and wish I would've gotten them myself!!
Value - Affordable food, and good portion sizes
Vegan Options - All vegan, as all things should be.
Additional notes: look for building 65-69. There was a Yat Sum sign outside of it when we visited (see picture). Inside the lobby, go up the elevator and turn left.
We had a 16 hour layover and were able to visit the peak and then this restaurant was a short walk from our friend's unit we stayed at overnight. Very grateful for this restaurant since vegan options at the airport are nonexistent at the moment.
Pros: good portion sizes
Cons: mixed vegetables a bit too heavy on mushrooms

Do not miss!! - Edit
An essential to your Hong Kong Visit. Lots of variety of authentic HK cooking at an incredibly affordable price with pleasantly large portions. This place was my staple big affordable daily meal as I was generally able to get two meals out of my order. It has an even cheaper quick meal menu. Not super fancy but the food is delicious, good quality and well priced and the people who work and run it are very friendly!

Good value selection - Edit
It’s cheap and cheerful. There are specials in Chinese on the walls and if you ask you can get the English version given to you. There are a wide variety of dishes so I enjoyed trying a selection. The base flavours are quite similar but they were to my taste so I enjoyed it! I recommend the bbq pork and gluten duck, delicious. Beware of the air conditioning drips onto your food… but other than that a great meal!

You get what you pay - Edit
It is very reasonable. But, the taste is just okay, there are no napkins and the place itself is not very cozy. But, all is vegan 👏🏻

Good place to eat - Edit
So glad to find this place on Happycow. We were hungry and this was only a short walking distance in the touristy Tsim Sha Tsui where everything is expensive. Tea time the sets are $33HKD. Also elderly price is discounted.

Fantastic Chinese vegetarian restaurant - Edit
Great location of small restaurant, very close to southern end of Nathan Road, on Peking Road, a short street parallel to the back of the Peninsula Hotel (Middle Road). Look for the Yat Sum pop up banner on the street outside the office building else you will miss the entrance.
Read moreHaving spent 11 days staying in Kowloon on the harbour front, this was our favorite eating place due to the warm welcome, the excellent choice of Chinese vegetarian dishes, large portions, location and the very reasonable prices. Ask for the specials as we particularly enjoyed the lamb hotpot with beancurd skin and the mock char siu.
My mother is a strict vegetarian - no egg, no onion & no garlic. The restaurant had no problem catering to her diet and she really enjoyed the dishes.
It is a no frills place where you serve yourself Chinese tea and there are no windows and that is reflected in the prices.
Highly recommend if you are vegan or vegatarian and love Chinese food.

Pros: good choice of Chinese dishes, very reasonable prices, warm welcome from Cantonese speaking staff
Cons: very small venue with less than 30 covers, tucked away in an office building

100% Vegan 🌱 - Edit
Lovely ladies serving all vegan: "No dairy, no eggs!" 😍 Many "Fast meal" options for HK$ 33 and the food is served the moment you sit down. Very basic, little bland. = Main Dish Menu next time! // Tried Stir-fried Enokitake Mushrooms with Broccoli from Main Dishes, added Rice and Soup (total HK$ 63). Wasn't tasty at all, just bland again, mainly sprouts with broccoli. Stars from 4 to 3.

Good for cheap, quick food in a hurry - Edit
The staff are incredibly friendly and the menu is expansive. I highly recommend the truffle rice and the salt & pepper chicken. A good local experience in a very, very casual, no-frills setting. Bring your own napkins because they charge for packs of napkins. The portions are big, so if you come hungry you will leave full.

It took us a moment to find the place but we were happy we did. There is an English menu and an additional menu of specials. You can order just by the dish or as a set with rice and soup. We definitely recommend the salt and pepper chicken side dish. The stuffed eggplant, veggies & tofu puffs were delicious. The chef's special radish and tofu skin stew was umami and comforting. We also ordered a side dish of mixed veggies in XO sauce that was a little spicy. The staff were delightful and we enjoyed our meal immensely.

Authentic chinese eatery - Edit
I almost missed the entrance and then thought I'm wrong but it is very- let's say- hided and small, second floor on the left. The food I had was good and it's so cheap (cash only or octopus card), a nice lady served me and I might return someday. Free tea and water provided. No desserts or sweet stuff unfortunately.
