Good place to eat

So glad to find this place on Happycow. We were hungry and this was only a short walking distance in the touristy Tsim Sha Tsui where everything is expensive. Tea time the sets are $33HKD. Also elderly price is discounted.

Fantastic Chinese vegetarian restaurant

Great location of small restaurant, very close to southern end of Nathan Road, on Peking Road, a short street parallel to the back of the Peninsula Hotel (Middle Road). Look for the Yat Sum pop up banner on the street outside the office building else you will miss the entrance.
Having spent 11 days staying in Kowloon on the harbour front, this was our favorite eating place due to the warm welcome, the excellent choice of Chinese vegetarian dishes, large portions, location and the very reasonable prices. Ask for the specials as we particularly enjoyed the lamb hotpot with beancurd skin and the mock char siu.
My mother is a strict vegetarian - no egg, no onion & no garlic. The restaurant had no problem catering to her diet and she really enjoyed the dishes.
It is a no frills place where you serve yourself Chinese tea and there are no windows and that is reflected in the prices.
Highly recommend if you are vegan or vegatarian and love Chinese food.

Pros: good choice of Chinese dishes, very reasonable prices, warm welcome from Cantonese speaking staff

Cons: very small venue with less than 30 covers, tucked away in an office building

Nice local restaurant

This place is mostly visited by locals and the prices are cheap. The staff don’t speak much English but they were helpful. And the food was very good!

100% Vegan 🌱

Lovely ladies serving all vegan: "No dairy, no eggs!" 😍 Many "Fast meal" options for HK$ 33 and the food is served the moment you sit down. Very basic, little bland. = Main Dish Menu next time! // Tried Stir-fried Enokitake Mushrooms with Broccoli from Main Dishes, added Rice and Soup (total HK$ 63). Wasn't tasty at all, just bland again, mainly sprouts with broccoli. Stars from 4 to 3.

Good for cheap, quick food in a hurry

The staff are incredibly friendly and the menu is expansive. I highly recommend the truffle rice and the salt & pepper chicken. A good local experience in a very, very casual, no-frills setting. Bring your own napkins because they charge for packs of napkins. The portions are big, so if you come hungry you will leave full.

Ate here 3 times

We kept coming back here, lady who runs the restaurant is really friendly and the prices are reasonable for HK.
Some dishes are hit and miss, have included photos, highlights are the truffle fried rice and the beancurd.

Great local place!

Like others, I had some trouble finding it. Nice and filling meal set of a main dish, rice, and soup for 61HKD. I got the tofu skin rolls with ginger sauce and loved it!

All vegan local HK style food

It took some time to find the location. It's a bit hidden, but it is no problem as food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Pros: All options are fully vegan, Local dishes, Affordable

Quick lunch

Stopped here for lunch, food was a bit bland for our taste. There are condiments on the corner table, I added spicy sauce.
Staff are lovely and friendly.
Maybe it is Buddhist (?), which may mean there's no garlic, onion etc.

Pros: Cheap and fast service , Friendly

Hidden and cosy

I didn’t at first find it and thought it was closed but just walk in at the address and go up to the second floor then left, it’s a tiny hidden diner with a nice lady making sure you understand it’s self service :)
The food was really tasty, options included a set with a soup (beans and carrots). No frills, perfect for a quick meal.

Affordable in HK!

A no frills Cantonese/Chinese restaurant in HK with lotsss of options😄make sure to look at the chefs recommendation menu as you can see vegan char Sui! A must try in HK!
The $33 meal set is a lunch price and it's about $60 for a dinner meal (different options though)
We ordered ginger bean curd and brocoli enoki mushroom dish! Pretty good although I added lots of chili sauce for extra flavour!

Pros: all vegan

Good prices, large portions

It took us a moment to find the place but we were happy we did. There is an English menu and an additional menu of specials. You can order just by the dish or as a set with rice and soup. We definitely recommend the salt and pepper chicken side dish. The stuffed eggplant, veggies & tofu puffs were delicious. The chef's special radish and tofu skin stew was umami and comforting. We also ordered a side dish of mixed veggies in XO sauce that was a little spicy. The staff were delightful and we enjoyed our meal immensely.

Odd building however it's not unsettling.

Some of the pictures are offsetting. Still don't fret. Food is good with decent variety of choices. Staff was charming.

Pros: Charming staff, Variety of choices , Relaxed environment (byob if necessary)

Cons: Building is off-putting , Pay before felt wrong at a certain percent , Didn't want to leave until prompted

Authentic chinese eatery

I almost missed the entrance and then thought I'm wrong but it is very- let's say- hided and small, second floor on the left. The food I had was good and it's so cheap (cash only or octopus card), a nice lady served me and I might return someday. Free tea and water provided. No desserts or sweet stuff unfortunately.

Nice place

As several places in HK, you need to go upstairs until the second floor inside a building.
Good food and good price.
The place is simple but totally worth it.

Very good service

The menu has 2 sides, one side there is a list of vegitables, if u order set meal, it is served with rice and soup. For 61$ this was a good meal, nice hot soup is served first, then the meal....
Hostess can speak good English. Place is modest, seems like a family run business......

Thanks

Pros: Set meal, Fixed menu, Location

Cons: More SPICY options, Set meal can have rice/noodles option, No dumpling/momo

All vegan but not much flavour

It’s great that everything there is vegan, however all the food I had was bland and lacking flavour. It was reasonably priced for HK which was a bonus.

Pros: Price, Friendly service

Cons: Bland taste

Lovely place

Its a nice place with very kind staff, the food is good, but I would like for it to have a bit more taste! The soup however was fantastic, especially the one with coconut in it! One of the best soups I have ever eaten in my life. Also good prices for in Hong Kong

Pros: Best soup ever, Kind staff, Good prices

Cons: Kind of bland food

Kind of tasteless

The staff were friendly but unfortunately we were not impressed by the food. The fried salt and pepper “chicken” was good, but the rest of the food lacked flavor.
