Nondescript tiny vegetarian place. Has a selection of pre-cooked vegan dishes that can be put in a plate or takeout box. Pay by weight. Also serves rice porridge, stir-fried vegetables, tofu, vermicelli. Open Mon-Fri 7:00am-1:30pm. Closed Sat & Sun. Usually closes by midday, but may have dishes left if arriving within the hour of closing.

Cheap Tiny Veg Place - Edit
This tiny and nondescript vegetarian buffet has some typical Taiwanese dishes available.
Read moreYou can fill up a plate and dine-in or get a box for takeout. All dishes appear vegan, but they also sell fried eggs, which is the only non-vegan component.
It is super cheap and tasty. Do try their rice porridge to accompany your selection of stir-fried dishes.
It is tucked away down a side street in central Hualien. It may be hard to find, as the signage is not clear. Look for the numerous small plants outside, the white 素 sign hanging above, and the bright green '素食' sign on the exterior wall.
