I cannot rate this lower than two star - it is not two star rated - Edit
I am leaving this review as I am really disappointed and feel mislead. I really really wanted to love this takeaway. Fully vegan, small business, killing it. There is so much hype and good feedback that we were really excited to finally order from here. Please take note of the bad reviews because the same repeated criticism is correct. The food all around was bad, even the rice and noodles.
Read moreThe food is both bland and extremely salty. It’s oily and incredibly soggy. (This is not an issue relating to delivery it’s specific to the meal itself). We ordered the salt and pepper box, prawn toast, crispy beef sweet and sour, crispy tofu curry and rice & noodles. The one redeeming feature of the meal was the prawn toast - we are not sure wether this was good or just edible and seemed good due to the rest of the food being so bad.
The salt and pepper box was horrible and a soggy bland mess. Both meals seemed to consist of a bottom layer of oily stir fried vegetables (the same in each despite being different meals). The crispy tofu curry then had 6 small pieces of soggy tofu with a little curry marinade poured over, the dish itself was not saucy. The crispy beef (the beef was a schnitzel piece cut up into strips, we think it might have been a fry’s schnitzel) was so soggy and the sweet and sour sauce, again poured on sparingly, had such a strong vinegar taste it was unpleasant.
The rice and noodles were also bad, we could not work out if they were undercooked or over cooked and left to dry out. We think the latter with the rice. The only taste was too much dark soy.
I have never seen my partner not finish a takeaway or waste food. He threw all of this in the bin after we discovered it was not edible. Save your £30+ and order elsewhere.
Cons: Bad food, Waste of money, Waste of food when you throw in bin

Actually thought it was average - Edit
Was really hyped to go here after seeing it online but actually we thought the food was pretty average. Quite oily and bland and a bit soggy. The menu is also not set up in a way that’s good for trying many things. We got some Chicken and noodles and tofu and rice dishes and prawn toast. Really thought it was a shame to be honest.

Best Takeaway Food in Liverpool - Edit
I can to get enough of Woo Tan Scran - sometimes I even dream about it. The food is just unreal - the salt and pepper chips are to die for. Only complaint is I wish they had slightly more gluten free options - also hope they bring back the gf chicken noodles/rice option as opposed to the tofu. Great quality food would definitely recommend.

Amazing vegan Mac and cheeze - Edit
The choice is incredible! Everything is vegan, the bao buns are super tasty. The portions are huge and cheap! I'm excited to try their salt and pepper mixed boxes. I've loved these restaurants in Liverpool, so happy they're here in Manchester as well!

A bit hit n miss - Edit
Fantastic to have a vegan chippy on the doorstep, just a shame the quality varies so much.
Read moreYes it's pretty unhealthy, yes it's mostly fried, yes it's salty and spicy and sweet and all those nice things that make this sort of takeaway so addictive. It's exactly what a Chinese chippy is meant to be, except ALL VEGAN.
Vegetables are still crunchy as they should be. But sauces can be way too salty or sweet, and sometimes meals can be overly greasy or soggy.
Lots of fake meats if that's your thing, or tofu / jackfruit / veggies if you want something less processed. And some British options like pie dinner too.
They're very accommodating to preferences and allergies.
Keep an eye on Instagram for news of their weekly changing specials.
Pros: All vegan, Some good specials, Friendly accommodating staff
Cons: They run out of some options, Quality can vary, Can be expensive for what it is

If you’re vegan in Liverpool you have to try this - Edit
Best Chinese food I’ve had since I’ve been vegan. Hit the nail on the head 100%. Eating this I truly had one of those moments when I was like wtf is this definitely vegan. Had the prawn roast, salt and pepper ‘chicken‘ and char siu ‘chicken’ with noodles. I’ve never tasted a chicken substitute so peng, delicious and REALISTIC!!!! 10/10

Disgusting food - Edit
We ordered a take away delivery, which included chips. The chips were the most disgusting and inedible I have ever seen. They had clearly been cooked for way too long in old fat. They were literally black, soft and swimming in oil. I felt physically sick just looking at them. It is beyond me how any self respecting business could have found it acceptable to take a customer's money and send this to their home. They went straight in the bin and I have complained via deliveroo. I would give no stars if this was possible, but Happy Cow forced me to give a minimum of 2 stars.

amazing flavours but lack of faux meat - Edit
Ordered from woo tan today, I have to say firstly the flavours are fantastic and authentic. The only draw back would be the lack of faux meat. I counted approx 3 tofu pieces in the satay and it’s mostly bulked up w veg and a small portion. Sorry :(

Amazing😝 - Edit
I have coeliac disease and I’m vegan so Its soo hard for me to get a takeaway! The food is SO tasty and the care they took to make sure they had everything gluten free was boss! They had gluten free gravy, pies and everything is just so tasty! The guys work so so hard and everything is cooked fresh😁 would HIGHLY recommend any vegan and non vegans to try it out! Not even super expensive either (which for vegan food is a big plus 😂)

Wow what can I say? This goes beyond the normal fare you see in a Vegan eaterie.
Read moreThe choices are ever changing, eclectic and surprising and the quality of the end product is second to none.
We've non vegans, but get bored of the normal, predictable food on offer, a trip here has never let us down - don't go there with a 'I'll be ordering X' mindset, that's not how this seems to work here, most of the menu is creative and exciting. Go there, ask whats selling hot, order a few bits and leave happy😄 Can't wait to be back...

Great Takeaway - Edit
I discovered this takeaway by chance when I was staying in a hotel in the area. It's a completely unpretentious dining experience. I was very impressed with the choice on the menu and with the meal I had. So impressed that I booked into another hotel in the area just so I could have another meal there, even though my business was in another part of the city (how's that for a recommendation?). I had an Oriental meal the first time round and it was hands down one of the best vegan meals I had had in a long time, which was surprising. So obviously I couldn't wait to get back. This time I had the pie dinner with peas and gravy and it did not disappoint. It was really tasty and portion-wise very substantial. And despite the takeaway being very busy, I didn't wait at all long for my meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful too, which was nice, especially in such a busy establishment. I shall be going back as often as I possibly can when visiting the city. I just wish there were more places like this.

awful - Edit
This sucked. it looked so good on insta but neither of us finished it. The guys were nice, and portions weren't bad, but everything was waay over salted, and I add salt to basically everything. Special fried rice & noodles had no spices, Literally oil & soy sauce, i've made better vegan chinese drunk. Only veg it had was babycorn and peas. I heard the place is new so perhaps this is teething problems, but this was awful.

A VEGAN CHIPPY!!!! - Edit
Thank you, Down the Hatch! I hadn't had chippy chips since the 80s and now I have - and they were AMAZING! I got the pie dinner ('Gluten-Free Pie Company' Scouse pie) with mushy peas and gravy; my partner opted for the crispy 'chicken' bits in chilli and garlic sauce, with fried rice. Both meals were absolutely delicious. The menu has plenty of choice and the staff are lovely. AND IT'S A VEGAN CHIPPY!
