I love this farmer’s market! It’s been there for many years but never really changes. You can go get fresh local produce, spices, ciders, locally made crafts, soaps, etc. They are open daily and are open all year. The vendors are friendly people from the area. No big corporations there! I always feel like I’ve got my money’s worth and I always enjoy interacting with the vendors!
This was the first visit to this venue. One of the vendors said it evolved out of the tailgate market format. It felt more like vendors selling the products as second- party distributors, sort of like a food terminal. There was a lot of redundancy among vendors especially where jam was concerned.
The retail vendors are housed in two buildings. The area is spacious and clean.
No organic vegetables. Not much in the way of local produce. Mostly pickled & jarred items. A good place to get local honey. Not very close to anything. One of the only places in Asheville to get boiled peanuts!
Nothing in this place is organic. It's just a market full of conventionally-grown vegetables and various jams and jellies packed with tons of sugar. I'm not sure what it's doing on this list and you have to drive to it. I mean, if you could stop in while strolling down the street it might be another story...
