Incredible Ramen!

Ramen was the highlight of the meal with the sushi offering strong support. I'll be returning for the ramen at a minimum.

Pros: Ramen, Sushi, Quick service

Cons: Limited seating

Catch of the day

What an incredible find Wellness Sushi has been. This was my first 100% vegan sushi concept and it did not disappoint. From their rolls to their appetizers to their donburi bowls, this place was absolutely incredible. Great for a quick bite or a nice meal and the staff are super friendly! My non-vegan partner was very impressed; I think this was the place that really opened his eyes to what vegan fare could be.

Pros: Inventive menu, Thoughtfully prepared , Flavor and presentation

Vegan sushi!

Options are stellar. Flavors are good! A must try when visiting Denver!

We loved the bang bang broc!

We recently just had an incredible eggplant unagi nigiri in Chicago, so we were excited to try the Ohnagi roll. The smokey sake roll was a bit chewy, but otherwise the rolls were great.

Best sushi in Denver!

In my top few favorite restaurants in Denver. Great, central location in Denver across from East High School. Street parking has never been a problem for me, but they do have access to a free parking garage as well. Handy during the endless road contruction.

Now... the food. The food is fab. Incredible sushi and ramen. Casual sort of place but top tier food.

one of the best vegan places on earth

i was delighted when wellness sushi re-opened a few years ago, and as i've watched the menu expand i've only been more delighted to see this business grow. the tonkotsu is incredible and the sushi is absolutely amazing. the menu is extremely authentic and i've gotten to try so many foods i never thought i would get to have thanks to this wonderful gem of a restauarant. if i could eat here every day, i would. i think this place is a must for anybody who comes to visit denver. it really is one the best places out there!

Pros: delicious authentic japanese food, ramen is incredible, ever-expanding menu of options

Cons: none

Denver fave: stellar flavor and texture

A must-try! One of the challenges with plant-based sushi is creating interesting flavor while maintaining balance between ingredients. Wellness sushi does an impressive job of this - and everything else on the menu. We particularly love the ramen, the Tokyo Drift Roll, and the Kakiage Supreme roll, but everything we’ve tried is excellent.

Friendly service and reasonable prices considering the quality. After several visits it has become one of our very favorite eateries in Colorado.

Highly recommended.

Enjoy!

100% DELICIOUS plant-based Sushi in Denver!

Wellness Sushi in Denver is an absolute GEM!

As it's 100% plant-based, anyone can order freely without having to ask 1,000 questions about ingredients.

My favorite thing to get here is the soy-free FIERY PHILLY ROLL (Jalapeno Tempura, Vegan Sundried-Tomato Cheese, Avocado, Cucumber, Malina's Sweet Mango, Shichimi *Contains Cashew Nuts, Gluten, etc.,). My go-to habit is Fiery Philly Roll + something I haven't tried before.

The GRILLED GOYZA is amazing, as are the following (which I've personally tried):
OKINAWA ONIGIRI
Avocado Roll
Veggie Spring Rolls...

Honestly, I've never had anything but amazing food here. I cannot recommend Wellness Sushi enough!

This is perfect for takeout, but the tiny restaurant–wedged in-between Chipotle and Twist & Shout on Colfax (near Tattered Cover and Sie Film Center)–is super cute, too.

Pros: Fiery Philly Roll, Okinawa Onigiri, Avocado Roll

Smells like Oil

We came here for lunch on a Sunday. Not busy but our food took an hour to come out. The whole place smelled like refried oil and after we left, our hair and clothes continued smelling like it. I wish I had listened to the other reviewer who mentioned this.

My favorite vegan spot in Colorado

Update May 2025:
I’m so sad to have to change my review after a year of this being my favorite vegan restaurant anywhere. I’ve been back twice in the past two months and it seems like something has changed and the place is going downhill. The food has been mostly fine, although their tofu katsu is bland as can be. I don’t know if it’s always been that way because if I get donburi I usually get potato katsu, which I enjoy way more. The tofu katsu was just a massive fried block of tastelessness. What makes me more sad is the state of the place. It smelled bad both of these past two visits, like stale fryer oil. The whole place is greasy as can be - so much grease on the floor that my feet could slide around if I let them. They didn’t have bins set out for you to put away your dirty dishes either time, but they also aren’t diligent about cleaning the tables anymore, so I had to move someone else’s dirty dishes to another dirty table so that I could have somewhere to sit.

The nail in the coffin came when I got to my hotel that night. I drove straight from Wellness Sushi to Colorado Springs, so a good hour and a half in the car. When I got into my PJs, I realized my clothes REEKED of the stale grease smell. I travel for work, so I don’t pack many clothes and I only bring one extra pair of pants. The jeans I wore that night smelled bad enough for the rest of the week that I couldn’t re-wear them. Three days of airing the clothes out in the hotel room and they still smelled like the restaurant. I plan on being able to rewear my jeans when I travel, so unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be coming back anytime soon. RIP former favorite spot 😕

Original review August 2024:
Holy moley this place is the absolute best. It’s incredibly unique - I’ve never been anywhere like it. I fly into Colorado for work frequently and I always make sure to come here if I can, even if it’s not convenient. This week, I’m working in Boulder and I still made the trek to Wellness Sushi. Every single thing I’ve tried so far has blown me away. So far, I’ve had the W’s Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, W’s Tantanmen Ramen, Ebi tempura roll, Potato katsu curry don rice bowl, Tokyo drift roll, and the fried tofu onigiri. You literally can’t go wrong, and you’re making a mistake if you don’t come here.

Loved it!

On our first visit we tried the smoky sake roll, mantaiko truffle onigiri, and Ohnagi oshi. We loved it! The Smoky sake roll was smoky and almost reminded me of bacon. We also really enjoyed the Oshi. It reminded us a little of the “torched and pressed” at PLANTA. My partner didn’t like the onigiri as much. He thought it was too meaty. I thought it was pretty good, but it was not shaped like any onigiri I’ve had. It reminded me of Spam Musabi. We liked it so much we came back the next day and tried the Hot Flamingo and Ohnagi rolls—both good, but the Hot Flamingo and Smoky Sake were overall probably our favorites. Can’t wait to try more.

Edit: We come here often and especially enjoy the Oshi (all of them are good, but the natto tamago is my favorite) and the Love in Edo. The only thing we didn’t care for was the Royal Potato roll, it was too sweet for us.

All time favorite

Lived in Denver for 3-4 years as a vegan chef and loved their take on a lot. Not a faux meat fan so skip ones like that but so many great roll options. The PLANTAINS with chocolate & cheese are DIVINE if you like that type of flavor! Nice people and bring out food pretty fast!

Pretty good food, inside could be better

The food is good albeit not the most filling.

The inside could use some work. The floors can be dirty (especially if the move a table around), the security cameras are constantly flashing red and blue lights, there is seating in front of the counter which makes it kind of awkward, the bathroom tiles are very slippery for some reason.
