We had a lovely lunch today at the cafe. The menu isn't huge, but there's a nice selection of light bites mains and specials along with a choice of smoothies and drinks. I did notice some lovely flapjacks and scones, but alas, there was no room after eating my lunch.

Delicious vegan breakfast and tasty hot chocolate as well as vegan cakes and ice cream (apple pie flavour). One of our party has seed allergies and they were very attentive. View of river and castle.

We had a great meal at this wonderful place in Kendal right by the river. The smoothies and the burger were special highlights, they were outstanding. We also had a baked “cheesy” mushroom and a soup which were also very tasty.

We held a lovely Garden Birthday party this weekend and we ordered some lovely food from waterside cafe .
Read moreEveryone loved the wonderful scrumptious salads and cheese and pepper quiche and quite simply the best carrot Birthday cake ever .
We were blown away by the delicious food and I really recommend Magda and her friendly team at Waterside cafe. enough in providing the delicious catering for this small family and friends event .

Read moreWe keep coming back to The Waterside for a delicious and satisfying meal, and we've now sampled most of the vegan options, including The Waterside Burger, Kabab and Budda Bowl; all amazing. We know to go for a random selection of their home made salads as they are a great surprise every time. All friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere, while keeping a quick service.

We really loved the food and service we got at the Waterside Cafe. We had an amazing lunch with options for all the family. The Buddha bowl, Seitan Kebab and Quesadilla were excellent. Make sure you ask for some extra firecracker sauce. It's spicy and extra good with the fries or Kebab. #Veganuary

The staff here are so lovely and welcoming, really helpful and accommodating. There is a small area at the back of the cafe with some toys and bits to keep the kids entertained whilst parents look through the menus and wait for the food to arrive. This cafe is by the river so it's nice to sit outside with one of the many drinks on offer.

I had high expectations of this place given the reviews, unfortunately I was slightly disappointed by the reality.
Read moreThe service was hit and miss, as was the food; some of the staff were delightful, others were curt and slightly rude. I ordered the soup, which was average at best, and the baked potato with chilli rated about the same. However, the saving grace was the kebab which was phenomenal and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I would say that my main was worth the visit and there were a plethora of other savoury and sweet dishes that I would certainly return for to give the cafe a second chance.

Absolute place to go if you go to Kendal. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and there is a wide range of food to choose from both vegetarian and vegan.

It’s a very big cafe. The tables are set out with plenty of room and a lovely little snug corner.

The food came out very fast and warm. My hubby had the Seitan ( steak) in a wrap and a small salad, he said it was lovely.
I had the Buddha bowl vegan and gluten free all fresh and very tasty.

Food was nice enough but we won't be going again as we were disgusted that a veggie/vegan place had a few wasp traps hanging outside. Surely there must be another more humane way of dealing/living with these pollinators.

Handy car park behind the cafe. Parking takes a bit of finding amongst Kendal’s maze of a road system. But once there the cafe is easy to get to. Plenty of outside and inside seating. Order at the counter. Good range of goods most of which can be adapted to vegan or already are. I had the burrito which came with a nice selection of salads and I also had three chocolate and orange cake which was great. Friendly staff and quick service. Overall very nice experience.
