Solid fastfood, punk - Edit
Each time I am in town, I have to stop here for some good fastfood. Love the punk vibe and the wooden interior with two floors. Really, don´t expect healthy food here! This is fast food - vegan döner, sausages, burgers, fries...it´s fatty, comes in filling portions, is served with good sauces and has fair prices. Wash it down with a beer or "bio" fizzy drinks of your choice and feel totally satisfied. - It can be crowded, but I never regret visiting this "vegan butchery". So good that only plants are "butchered" here.

I tried both the currywurst and cheeseburger after going there twice, both were great. The mayo sauce for fries was really awesome! Nice relaxed vibe, great for some fast food type meals.

It’s quite a cool place. Large choice compared to Berlin Vöner. But to be honest, I’ve eaten vegan junk a lot better than this. Like it, tastes good, but nothing special.

Been there twice because a lot of people recommend it - the vöner is good (tasty bread, but besides that a quite normal vöner). However, both times I had to wait more than half an hour for a Vöner - I don't mind waiting for good food freshly prepared, but not that long for fast food like that.

Great vegburgers and amazing fries. Very big portions, and pretty cheap. We've eaten there several times and so far burgers + fries was the best combination.

I usually like places like Vleischerei: Loud punk music, a little dark inside, and a lot of nice people go here. The food fell a bit flat for me though: As the name suggests, you will get a lot of vegan meat / cheese replacements and basically everything is deep fried and served with a lot (!) of sugary or fatty sauces. Also, their portions are huge, way too large for one person to finish. This is probably great when you are drunk but I can't recommend them as a place to grab some lunch (unless fatty fast food is exactly what you are after).

The Vleischerei is a fast food restaurant with a unique look. For example it has steampunk lamps at the outside. After ordering your food by self service, you get big portions. I hab a cheesburger an fries. All in all, the food was good, but a bit too greasy for me. There could be a bit more healthy options at the menu.

The place itself is absolutely unique and it was great to be sitting outside even though the table was a bit too high. The gyros was already sold out so I tried the seitan burger instead. It was tasty but a bit tricky to eat - how about using a skewer for holding it together? The fries were crispy and the BBQ sauce was good but I absolutely loved the garlic sauce! Their portions are big and you get good price value - but definitely not healthful food with the huge amount of fat, salt and white flour.

It is targeted at young people and the left scene, still, not quite sure if hygiene is complied as the kitchen does not look very clean and the guest toilet doesn't even have running water... also observed kitchen staff smoking cigarettes and preparing food afterwards without washing hands.
However, clearly you can make a unique hypezig Leipzig experience in this place.

They have the most amazing vegan fast food in the world! Though the food takes a bit of time and not that fast.. it's totally worth the waiting. Their fries are fresh and crispy (super delicious!), the cheezeburger is amazing and I especially like the gyros plate. Very meaty and well seasoned with lots of fresh salad and fries (gyros in bread is also very good!). I can't really finish the whole thing. Well but even with the fresh salad, if you are looking for 'healthy' vegan options it is not the best place.. all very fried (unless you order only the salad) and your clothes/hair might end up being smelly for a while too.

When you are walking past all the currywurst and thuringer and then get to the cool looking vegan joint in Leipzig that serves the vegan versions — sigh with delight, settle in and enjoy! Lekker essen, indeed!

This place was amazing - they have a great range of fast/junk food - döner kebabs, hot dogs, burgers - in a laid back atmosphere. I had a huge, delicious döner with a plate of chips and vegan mayo. Really worth checking out if you miss kebabs or other meaty dishes.

It can be terribly hard for vegans or vegetarians to find a place where you just can eat greasy and nice fast food that you loved before you changed your diet. Sometimes you're just craving fries, steak alternatives or the taste of steak and meat in general, good creamy sauces, burgers and all that jazz but that is so hard to find. A lot of vegans and vegetarians have to deal with a big problem and that is that a lot of restaurants are overpriced and the meat and dairy substitutes taste bitter and like plastic, just simply unenjoyable but once you bought it, you can not return it and that is just depressing. Bad vegan/vegetarian restaurants are still representing our community and for anyone who is new to the life style, that can be the end before they even started. "Vegan food tastes like that? Ew! I will never go vegan." A lot of my non veg/vegan friends have had that experience unfortunately but Vleischerei isn't like that! I take a lot of my friends there, besides my boyfriend none of them are vegetarian or vegan and they love the vegan meat, the love the food there and so do I. The place really fulfills my fast food cravings. I love the gyros and stake plate and the burgers rock. I do not really like the Bratwurst but that's just me, it has this typical saitan bratwurst/frankfurter taste, like the ones by Alnatura and I do not like the taste but other than that, I love it.

There is not much to say except that Vleischerei is simply an awesome venue.
Read moreBeing endemic to the punk and squatter scene not prim there, instead you'll find secondhand but comfortable interior, a causal atmosphere, a good attitude and people with colourful hair with friendly dogs off-leash.
In terms of food you'll find lots of fatty fast food dishes. Most of them have some salad or greens in it, so it isn't completely unhealthy, nevertheless rather something to eat once in a while than daily.
Whilst their vöner could be better in my opinion, the gyros plate is quite tasty. They use really great vegan mayonnaise by the way.
The three times I was there it always took a while for the order to be ready; disappointingly the food was rather lukewarm then.
Prices are reasonable.
