MUST TRY

We took a 10-day vacation through Sweden and Norway, and this was the best food of the entire trip! The Swedish “meat”balls were divine. Additionally, my husband has some severe food allergies (to nuts, peas, and lentils), and they were extremely helpful and accommodating! Will 100% be back next time we are in town!!!

Pros: Full vegan menu , DELICIOUS FOOD, Great with food (nut) allergies

A wonderful surprise

Very cute new vegan restaurant in Gamla Stan.

Menu is decently long and all options we tried were very yummy.

I can highly recommend the meatballs, they are very meaty in texture.

Pros: Awesome location, Local dishes , Good vibes

Amazing food

We went for lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised when they had the traditional meat balls and mash on the menu. We of course had to try them, they were delicious, would recommend and come back here to sample some more food!

Pros: Accepts cash , Good options , Fairly priced

I heartily agree about the Swedish Meatballs. I don't know how many times I've been to Ikea and wondered about their Swedish Meatballs. These were excellent as well as the mashed potatoes and Lingonberry preserves and the delicious gravy. If you happen to be on Gamlestan (and you will end up there as that's the old Stockholm) try Verte. Awesome, and reasonably priced

Good lunch, bad dinner...

Delicious small buffet. Not too crazy creative but cozy, filling, and healthy. There are alternative meats and whole foods. The ambiance is nicely lit by yellow light bulbs, creating a snug environment. The waiter was kind and welcoming. I feel very relaxed here.

Edit:
I came the 2nd time for dinner instead of lunch. The price is doubled at night, which is OK if it's not for the fact that the food was exactly the same from lunch. I suspect they were leftovers because one curry dish was sour. Both me and my companion had a squeaky stomach for the rest of the night.

Worth a visit!

Tried a veganized version of the Swedish classic köttbullar and wasn’t disappointed. The mashed potatoes were a bit too thick in my opinion which made the entire dish a bit dry. But it definitely tasted good. My friend had a vegan burger which I liked a lot. The fries that came with it were also good. The restaurant is nice and the cook / waitress was great.

Good buffet, the rest okay

The food from the buffet was really good and for a reasonable price (159 SEK during lunchtime). However, the service was not very friendly and the caprese salad was a little disappointing. In a vegan restaurant I‘d expect an actual mozzarella-substitute, but the cheese was more like a vegan feta. The size was okay, but could be bigger considering the price of 149 SEK.

Pros: Good lunch buffet

Cons: Not very accommodating service, Caprese not as expected

So good we went here 2 days in a row!

Was on a business trip to Stockholm and went to Verte for lunch two days in a row! The first day my partner and I got the buffet, the curried sweet potatoes were especially standout. Other food was pretty good, par for the course as far as Swedish vegan food I’ve experienced in my limited time here. The second day I brought several coworkers and ordered a La carte. We got the dumplings and vegan balls (excellent!) and they got green pea bowls. All the food was great, the restaurant is cute and it’s got great people watching in Gamla Stan. Perfect sidewalk for an Aperol Spritz. The service for a la carte took a little bit, but I think it was because there was 1 woman working - she was lovely and was managing the whole FOH herself. One of our favorite spots on our brief visit to Stockholm!

Pros: Fully Vegan, Vegan versions of Swedish Food, Great sidewalk cafe

No mashed potatoes

Cute little restaurant. We wanted the meatballs but they ran out of mashed potatoes. So we got fries…. Well… But the service was nice, the food and drinks, too.

Nice homemade Eastern European dumplings

Tried the dumplings with sauerkraut & mushrooms. Clearly homemade, Freshly Made, fatty and tasty. Eastern European in the best possible way.
The venue is quite boring though, feels and looks like an old pizza place. Not that cozy…

Pros: Fully vegan

Cons: Uncozy venue, looks and feels old, Not many customers

Okay, but nothing special

The place looked nice and we were excited to try the burger. It was okay, but really nothing special. Quite basic. The fries were bland and not that crispy, and they came without any dipping sauce. However, we got ketchup and aioli (which was actually very good), when we asked for it.

Staff was okay, but didn't seem very service minded...

Not the best takeaway

Place looks nice and the buffet looks good but as far as takeaway from the a la carte menu goes it was tiny, expensive and honestly no better than Bröd&Salt. Maybe I’ll try eating in next time but as for takeaway, there’s so many better options.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Buffet looks good

Cons: Expensive, Tiny takeaway portions, Not the best food

Great little cafe/lunch spot

My husband and I wrapped up our time at the Nobel Prize Museum, and Verte is around the corner.

We each ordered the pasta of the day, which was lasagna, and we split the “vegoballs”—a vegan version of Swedish meatballs with mashed potato’s, gravy, and a certain berry that I’m forgetting the name of. Overall, it was tasty! The portions were a great size—not too big and not too small.
