So Happy 100% Vegan! - Edit
The Airbnb we’re staying at was not a mile from this restaurant. You can imagine how many times we went to this restaurant being that it is all vegan. We tried their sandwiches, their appetizers, their noodle dishes, their desserts, everything! And I have to say that this would totally be Gordon Ramsay approved. They take their time making their dishes and everything is such an amazing option to end your day. I would gooooo if you’re in town!

Wish I could come here more often - Edit
I love this place. My favorite is the spring roll noodle salad dish. My husband isn't as big of a fan of the entrees. He usually gets a burger or gyro. We agree that they have some of the best vegan desserts ever though. Not sure if they still have it, but the coffee cake was amazing. They had fried ice cream at some point too that was pretty good.

Way too much oil and no flavor - Edit
I honestly dont see why people love this place. Went with a group for a friend's birthday so we ordered like half the menu to share. I honestly didn't like anything, most foods were overcooked and/or drenched in oil. Ended up not eating 99% of what we ordered and had to eat dinner at home after leaving the restaurant.

The best vegan place in the Bay Area - Edit
Organic, vegan, non-gmo, gluten free. Is it even possible to have a successful restaurant with these attributes? Turns out you can. Food is delicious and fresh. Well worth the price. Owners clearly have a mission and passion. I wish them all success. Thank you very much for having such a restaurant and serving the Bay Area.

Great Menu - Edit
We've ordered several options here. They have an extensive menu and it's very easy to order online.
Read moreWe've tried several dishes and they've all been pretty good. We haven't gotten anything that we couldn't find somewhere else.
The staff is generally friendly and quick with our pick up order.
The pricing is a tad high but only by a couple of bucks and the portion sizes are large enough to share.
If you would like chopsticks with your take out order make sure to put it in the instructions.
Pros: Extensive menu , Everything we've ordered has been good

Lots of tasty comfort food. Lots of pretty colored glass. Extremely kind staff. Follows the same sort of menu as the other Hai Ching restaurants. Golden Era, Loving Hut. Ya know? those places.

Vegan House - Edit
We were pleasantly surprised that the whole menu is vegan! There's so much to choose for it took us forever to decide. Everything was great, but on the salty side. We especially likes the Spicy Cha Cha and the side roti bread. The service was impeccable too.

I've been coming here for over 15 years and for classic vegetarian (or poor food descriptions but good taste) it's one of the best.

Blew my expectations - Edit
Despite the name, everything at this place is vegan😄My friend and I came here Friday night and it was easy to find parking.
Read moreWe were seated and I ordered the Malaysian Curry Chow Mein ($10!) and my friend ordered the Eggplant Bliss ($12) with a side of white rice ($1.50).
As we were waiting for our food, a waitress came by to give us a sample of their Taro Milk Tea. It was a pale purple and didn't expect much from it but I WAS SO WRONG, it is absolutely delicious! My friend and I were unexpectedly surprised and ordered a glass of the Taro Milk Tea ($4.95). It's light but sweet and creamy, and I usually don't order milk teas but I would order this for sure next time I come back.
The Malaysian Curry Chow Mein had tofu, cabbage, and coconut milk in it. It was pretty good, but it started to taste the same towards the end. There was plenty to eat though, and I managed to stomach the rest of it.
My friend's Eggplant Bliss is definitely something that should be eaten with a side of rice. There's about 10ish blocks of eggplant neatly stacked on top of each other. It's topped with a savory sauce that would be too salty to eat by itself, so having a base helps. It felt more like a dish to be shared with a large group, because eating a bunch of fried eggplant pieces can make you feel queasy at the end.
This is one of the cheaper vegan places in the Bay Area, and the interior is so cutely decorated as well!!

Do Not Order Delivery - Edit
On our last night in San Jose we tried ordering from this place as they looked phenomenal. We get our meal of curry and kung pow tofu and there is no rice with it. Assuming it's a mistake, we call back and are told rice does not come with these wet tubs of food. Rice must be bought separately. So I just paid over thirty dollars for bad soup. I fully regret choosing this place for my last night here.

Okay, but it’s all vegan so I’m grateful - Edit
I didn’t love all the food, but I’m grateful to have the entire menu as an option. I’m Vietnamese, so my mom’s vegan Vietnamese food will always be the best😉This place is not the best place in San Jose to get a vegan meal, but it is one of the few all-vegan restaurants in the area. They don’t only serve pan-Asian food, but that’s all we ordered here. It’s so convenient.

I’d give it a 3.5 - Edit
Ordered the Pho and Pad Thai. We found the pho to be a bit on the oily side and despite it being vegan, it almost had a beef fat flavour. Pretty crazy how flavours can be replicated these days. The pad Thai was pretty good, nothing super spectacular but it wasn’t bad. Would come back to try other items.

An institution in San Jose, with good reason. it’s trippy in there, but in the best way. Food continues to get better, and we’ve been going there for years. Don’t miss.

favorite local spot - Edit
Love this place! They have great lunch specials. One is veggies in a mushroom sauce and I’m obsessed with this sauce. So Good!!! Veggies seem fresh and nice too. I like the fresh rolls that you make your self. I believe it’s called a sea platter. It comes with a piece of tofu wrapped in nori and so many fresh herbs and such to wrap inside. I’m not a fan of the soups with the fake shrimps (because I don’t like fake shrimps) so I stick more to the veggie dishes. Especially like the mushroom entree for dinner as well although that one is more fried and less healthful. They don’t have any alcohol but nice beverages such as vegan milk tea or Thai tea or fresh coconut.
