Vegesana is vegetarian again! - Edit
Having written last year that Vegesana was serving meat, I’m very happy to update my review to acknowledge that they are once again vegetarian.

We've only been for lunch at Vegesana, but love it so much that it's a must visit for every trip to Barcelona! Favourites for us are the salt and pepper crispy seitan chunks and the fried rice with vegan prawns. Most dishes are vegan (illustrated with a😉although some rice dishes have the option to include egg so order carefully.
The staff here are really friendly and speak English, and generally on the ball if you order something that may or may not be vegan (i.e. egg optional). Looking forward to the next visit already!

Fully Vegetarian Again! - Edit
We were so happy to see that Vegesana is now fully vegetarian again on our most recent visit to Barcelona (also reported on their social media). We thought that we had had our last meal there back in April (we avoid non-veggie restaurants) but we visited twice in a week and can report that the food is as good as ever. Highly recommend the “crispy soya protein” - it is delicious. Most of the menu is vegan and what isn’t can generally be adjusted.

Great value for money - Edit
My second time here. Menu del dia is very cheap and lots of tasty options. Just wish they’d go 100% fully vegan one day!

Superb Ramen - Edit
Lots of choice - multiple menus are a little confusing and not always clear which are vegan options or on allergens. But our server was really helpful (and spoke great English) and the food was fresh, delicious, came in huge portions and super good prices. Really great value and tasty ramen - one of the best I have had. They also have a whole wider Chinese menu, also with lots of vegan options. It is not the nicest environment, a bit plain and shabby but perfectly fine if you are looking for informal and good value. I would eat there again and recommend it.

Chinese with lots of vegetarian and vegan options - Edit
Good Chinese food and ramen, too. The owners are vegetarians but the restaurant started offering meat dishes two years ago. They have many many vegetarian dishes, most of which can be made vegan by substituting a different sauce. They understand vegan.
Read moreWe had vegetable fried noodles, seitan with vegetables, and vegetable dumplings. All were hot and fresh. White rice is available on request.
We would come here again.

Lovely vegan options - Edit
Nice variety of options for me and the other diner (non vegan). I understand others disappointment in this place no longer being purely vegan - but for family I need both options.

Barca's very own meat free Chinese (no longer) - Edit
Updated today after I checked online and discovered it now serves fish & meat
Read moreBarcelona has a 100% meat free Chinese restaurant. Spacious, friendly and easy to find and only 20 minute walk from the epicentre of Las Ramblas. It was truly a pleasure to eat here and be appreciated by the welcoming owner. Vegan choice is pretty impeccable. We ordered a vegetable and tofu curry and a mock pork sweet and sour served with boiled rice. I'm convinced that any meat eating fool could be persuaded this was real chicken and pig. Of course, it wasn't. Main courses range from €7-€9, boiled rice is €1.50, a bottle of Moritz is €2 and a bottle of house wine is €6. Maybe stay clear of the house wine, it's not the best. However, the budget certainly remains intact. Some days just cry out for a meal like this and you will find it here. The menu is quite extensive, you will not be left disappointed.

WOWZA, real Chinese food - Edit
I've been to China 10x so it's really nice to eat authentic Chinese food in preparation for my next trip there in a couple months. Also budget prices and friendly service. I got the daily meal. Sooo yummy and comes with appetizer, main, side, dessert and drink like even wine or beer. Vegan menu separate. Just ask no egg or milk to be sure. They fully understand what vegan is.

Comida asiática normal a buen precio - Edit

Comida china barata - Edit
No he podido con todo, he acabado llena

Excellent option - Edit
Excellent service, friendly owners, clean restaurant. Varied options, everything vegetarian, but lots of vegan or veganizable options. The food is tasty and the portions are big. There's a daily set menu with lots of options (appetizer+main+side consisting of noodles or rice or bread) as well as menu options. It is right in the city centre. A good option.

Decent lunch option - Edit
I stopped here by chance after getting knocked back from several other places as I had no reservation. Barcelona holiday apparently.
Read morePlenty of pace and a hidden second room just in case you look in and the first room is busy. Vegan options clearly marked on the menu and there is plenty of choice.
As always I should have had more veg. Dim sum was fine was decent and the main was also decent. I just think they could improve really quickly by offering a few more sauces with the mains. It would also benefit by a pairing menu, offering a side with a main rather than starters.
The red wine was very cold. Worth a lunchtime visit.

great little spot with vegan asian food. There’s so many options that it’s hard to choose - the food is good but I wouldn’t say it’s impressive. A bit overpriced for the quality but still enjoyable 😄I think it’s nice the try

I went there to eat lunch and ordered two different dishes. Potato balls and something else I can’t remember the name of. On a later thought I should have ordered something else, since it wasn’t quite the dishes for me. Otherwise a great restaurant O hope people try out.
