Great Thai food and I don’t normally like Thai food - Edit
Many years ago there was a vegetarian Thai restaurant in Berkeley and it was discovered that of course there was fish sauce in the curry. Vegans like me were very upset and heart broken because the food at the place was so good. In fact, for years I hadn’t really trusted Thai restaurants because I felt I could taste fish sauce in everything — which was probably not the case, but after the Berkeley restaurant experience, I gave up.
Read moreSo, whenever I go eat out, I specifically avoid Thai places.
But, I was intrigued by the reviews of this place and I love a good wonton soup, so I risked it. Also, I figured a restaurant that had the word veganic in the name would be up to a higher standard! And I read kbarthol9’s review and decided to try it (this was also mainly because Purple Mint was too far to drive and I felt tired). I took kbarthol9’s recommendation and ordered the same things they had. They had wonton soup and Larb. I was not disappointed and, in fact, delighted. Regretfully, I was by myself and there was too much food and I got full on the soup which was excellent!
I don’t know if other cities have such an accurate “heat” system but I ordered the Larb at a 7 and it was perfectly spicy. The dish was so interesting and delicious and the duck stayed crispy overnight in the hotel fridge. I don’t know how they did it but with the leftover rice and potato fritter it was a great breakfast!
San Diego, you are doing a great job at vegan and I am grateful that people seem to be showing up for the healthiest, most environmentally friendly and smartest type of food!
Pros: Traditional Thai with interesting additions, Excellent presentation and portion size, Lovely atmosphere

Where's the Banh Mi?! - Edit
The yellow curry is my fav here, with the fake duck, which is a really tasty seitan. The larb is excellent, but not with the fake duck because they fry it to a crisp, which is probably how the dish is made traditionally.
Read moreMy only critique is that they don't offer banh mi, and they should.

Fast & Tasty - Edit
Great food. Tried a couple different apps and entres and all were awesome. The service was also very good, food came out very fast and water and drinks were constantly refilled. Crispy duck was particularly good.

Interesting flavors - Edit
Huge vegan menu with all the Thai favorites! Tons of meat subs, I chose duck which I’ve never had before and it was really good. The pineapple fried rice was slightly different flavor than expected and I was bummed the pineapple wasn’t carmelized. Fried apps (spring rolls, tempura) both good and my friend enjoyed her curry. If I lived in the area I’d definitely want to return and try more dishes.

Probably the best vegan Thai in San Diego - Edit
I had wonton soup & spicy eggplant stirfry. both were excellent. The wonton soup was just like I remembered it before becoming plant based - but better tasting. Spicy eggplant had great flavor, the Thai basil and other spices blended so well together, and the vegetables were so fresh and tasty.

This is some seriously great-tasting, vegan Thai! - Edit
Checking Hillcrest out and we coincidentally found a parking spot right in front of this restaurant. We first ventured out for a drink before returning to have dinner.
Read moreWe had a lot of questions about the menu and our waiter was very knowledgeable not only about the menu items, but Thai food in general. He was very helpful with recommendations for my friends and made sure spice level expectations were explained and met.
My non-vegan friends ordered some typical Thai fare, albeit vegan at this establishment, and I ordered the Three Flavors Fish. We started with the Thai Spring Rolls, since there were three of us. Very tasty! Definitely worth ordering again. My friends enjoyed their entrees, and the Three Flavors Fish was fantastic.
I would definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu!
Pros: Good food, Good service

5 stars for the larb - Edit
Everything we got here was delicious but the crispy “duck“ Larb stole the show. Some of the best flavors I’ve had in ages. We also got a noodle dish that was to die for and their appetizer was also great. Amazing little find.

all vegan thai food in San Diego - Edit
One of the best vegan restaurants I have been to in awhile. I am a big fan of Thai food. I am a longtime vegan of 25 years so thrilled to dine at an all vegan thai spot. I opted for the massaman curry. Plentiful portion size and reasonably priced. Flavorful.
Read moreMy server said the curry has a range beginning at three up to 10 for spiciness. I opted for a five aka medium spicy and found this to be a good amount of heat yet not overboard. I opted to get some hot sauces on the side.
Simple yet sufficient ambiance.
Recommended!

Delicious food, easy vibes - Edit
Delicious food! The flavors hit home and authentic. The spice range of 1 to 10 means everyone is happy (even a 7 wasn't burning your mouth but just very well balanced). The Massaman Curry and Drunken Noodles were amazing. The pineapple cake was good but not extraordinary.

The food was excellent! We started with summer rolls, which came with two tasty sauces. We then shared Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. Everything was great and I was much too full for dessert. In fact, we had leftovers. I would definitely return!

Good food but doesn’t meet the menu’s description - Edit
Food was good but the portion sizes were not as pictured. The 3 Flavors Fish didn’t have any fish flavors but it was good. The pot stickers were not steamed as written on their menu, they were deep fried. The service could have been better. Ambience was okay. Overall, found the food a little pricey and although good food, it didn’t meet our expectations from the menu.

We shared the tofu larb and the duck curry. The flavours were really amazing, we asked for spice level 5 out of 10, but for us it wasn’t that spicy. It didn’t detract from the great taste and excellent cooking. Good portions, too, we were very full after what we ate
