Exquisite and unique - Edit
Vegan Yes is a true passion project, borne out of love and developed with expertise. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food is delicious. It is tiny and the furnishings are modest, but what it lacks in opulent surroundings it more than makes up for in terms of its inventive, delicious and nourishing menu and the enthusiasm of the owners who are very willing to share their knowledge and make recommendations.

Absurd how good it was - Edit
First things first: this place is pretty small and doesn't have a toilet. But the staff will show you a pub nearby where you can go 😉
Read moreFurthermore coming here really was an epic adventure! This Korean-Italian-Fusion idea (with a lovable backstory) sounds absurd but it tastes amazing! I had all the three courses which the charming chef led me through and every dish was exciting in its own way. Ah, and I had a Kimchi Cocktail, too 😄
I can strongly recommend this place! 🥰 And be brave to spend your money even though all the courses together are gonna cost you a little bit. It's worth it 🙃

This restaurant is a true gem. Highly, recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great vegan food, especially a nice variety of kimchi.

What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. The owner of the restaurant was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

Colourful, healthy foods. - Edit
We were welcomed in by one of the owners. Tables are close together, it was a squeeze to get to ours. Stools aren’t my fave way to be seated but it makes them easier to fit in the tight space. A small plate was served to us with four samples of the kimchi and an explanatory note colour coded. It all helps with deciding what to choose from the menu. I didn’t try the red one, chilli but the other three were delicious.
Read moreHaving already had lunch we opted for a couple of desserts and B had a hot chocolate with rum! I had the mochi and B had the chocolate mousse. He enjoyed his options and I have to say the mochi was fab, I loved it. Would recommend everyone to try here. It is an experience as well as lovely foods.

Toda la experiencia increíble. Nos encantó. Hay q tener en cuenta q solo se puede pagar al contado y que el local no dispone de baño, pero en lo referente a la comida volvería una y otra vez. El dueño encantador y el mejor mochi de mi vida.

Kimchi paradise - Edit
Excellent service and a great explanation of the different types of kimchi they offer. You get a little appetiser with the different flavours, which helps you navigate the menu afterwords. We loved all types so decided the order the rainbow kimchi salad. We shared the Tramezzino dish (a plate with 3 triangular vegan sushi sandwiches). Good thing we shared because it would have been a lot for one person! For drinks they have lots of homemade fermented drinks and also cocktails. We ended our lovely lunch with a dark chocolate mochi. 10/10 recommend.

A home outside of home - Edit
My partner and I have been going for years whenever we want something special and we are always welcome there. The couple who owns Vegan Yes have found tasty ways to combine flavours from their respective cultures and come out with unique and delicious dishes. The food is healthy as well as creative and usually incorporates kimchi or fermented sauces. I've brought friends and family to the restaurant and the dishes always surprise and delight people. It's hard to describe, you just have to try it yourself. You don't need to be very hungry to have a mochi for dessert.

Great kimchi - Edit
I'm not known to be a fan of kimchi (only tried shop bought) but something drew me to Vegan Yes. When we arrived, we were given a sample plate to try each kimchi option. Two I wasn't so keen on. Two I loved! The sample meant I wasn't guessing as I doubt I would have chosen Viola kimchi for my gnocchi topping. I can also recommend the mochi.

This type of food is not for everyone but if you like asian food, Korean in particular, then you will enjoy the different kimchi there. I liked the toppognocchi and the burger.

Wow! - Edit
Picked at random when we were staying nearby. Small corner restaurant amid the seething masses in Brick Lane. We had the Tramezzini and the sausage & bean casserole. The latter was rich and delicious, the former unexpectedly tasty. (Photo shows only one of the three bits of this dish). Really good kimchi too. We finished with the pistachio ice cream on a bed of chocolate mousse.
Read moreA lovely meal, the chef seemed a really interesting character, very friendly.
Only weird thing was seeing Tennants Super Lager on the drinks menu: in Scotland that’s usually the tipple of the jaikies.

Italian dishes with kimchi is a very unique and honestly weird combination, but here it is executed perfectly. I loved the gnocchi al pesto. The chef is welcoming, and they even had one of my favorite Italian beers.

Overpriced and mediocre - Edit
I had the sushi burger, which was okay but tiny and I left still hungry. The pink mayo was overwhelming and on everything. The Italian-Korean fusion concept feels a little bit gimmicky. I’d recommend tofu vegan around the corner if you’re looking for good food at a similar price range.

Great options and amazing chocolate mochi - Edit
They give you a small plate of different kimchis to recommend dishes based on the kimchis you liked. It’s a small place but the food is great. I had the sausage plate, and it was tasty. Make sure to try the dark chocolate mochi!

Excellent Italian/Korean fusion restaurant - Edit
What makes a great restaurant is not only the food, but the staff as well. I was greeted promptly when entering the small establishment. I was seated by a woman who appears to be the owner. She immediately brought over 4 different colors of kimchi for me to try with the ultimate goal of choosing a color for my meal. She gave a brief explanation of kimchi and how healthy it is for our bodies. She was so passionate when doing this. I chose yellow and ordered the gnocco al pesto and kimbap. The gnocco was excellent and the kimchi paired well with it (who would have thought). The kimbap was good but I would have probably preferred something else. I would definitely recommend you visit this place.
