The atmosphere is 'fast-foodie'... but in a cosy way. Staff are friendly and service is quick. The food is rather heavy and intense (as is, I suppose, expected!)

I love the sheer variety of mock meats as well as the creative menu! The wings were so crispy and the loaded fries with house seitan was fantastic.

Jerk BBQ drumsticks 10/10 - Edit
I got jerk bbq drumsticks with a side of ranch and they were the best thing I’ve eaten in a while. Very spicy (obviously) but the ranch helped tame the heat. I’ll definitely come back here when I’m in nyc next! #Veganuary

I stopped in here for a quick bite before a Broadway show and it was great! I had one of the mac-n-cheese bowls, my partner had chick’n tenders and fries. This is definitely comfort food, not your place for healthy salads, but it’s great for an occasional treat, and as far as I can tell the only fully vegan place near the theaters and Times Square. The only downside is that there’s not much seating - there is some, it’s just a small area. Then again “on the fly” is in the name.

I arrived at Penn Station and was on my way to a business meeting. I figured the food offerings at the venue would be decidedly not vegan-friendly, so I pulled up my trusty Happy Cow app and found this highly recommended vegan place close by. It's got a fast-food vibe with a comfort-food slant, and it delivers! Staff were friendly, and there was room for me to sit at a counter in the small room in the back. I had the Beyond Mac Buffalo Bowl w/ Ranch Drizzle added - a bit sinful on my part as it was delightfully saucy and I added the ranch. I very much enjoyed it and went on to my meeting happy and full! A bit pricey, but hey, in that area and for specialty food, it's expected.

I had high hopes for VOTF but it did not meet my expectations.. I got the chopped cheese, mac and cheese, fries, and a side of the fake meat. The chopped cheese was pretty good, but the mac and cheese was inedible. It was also SO cramped and there were like 4 seats to eat. The staff was not knowledgeable at all of the options because I asked what flavors soft serve they had and she had to go to the back to ask someone else. Honestly I like the owners from what I’ve seen on social media so I would give them another shot, but with such a wide array of options it fell flat.

As for the seating, I understand it can get quite cramped. If you’re looking for more space, I recommend visiting the outdoor park just down the block, which has tables and chairs for a more comfortable dining experience.

Read moreThis time my friend and I had Barbecue chicken drumsticks (with edible “bone”), Mac and cheese and salad with chicken bits. Everything was delicious albeit a bit expensive but that’s to be expected given the area. There is limited seating so it’s best for take out if you go during a busy time.

Counter-service place with a very small dining area. I ordered the mac n cheese since it seems popular, and some buffalo drumsticks. No tap water here, so I had to pay $3 for a bottle.
Read moreThe mac n cheese was pretty good, the sauce was a little thin but had a nice cheesy flavor that wasn’t overpowering. The drunksticks were those wholesale wings with a fibrous stick in the center which you can find at like half of vegan restaurants nowadays. Either way, the buffalo sauce was pretty good so I can’t complain.
The prices were admittedly a bit high for a pretty lackluster dining experience, but maybe some of their other dishes are a bit more exciting. Quite put off by the lack of tap water…overall I’d recommend this place for take-out if you’re in the area and want a junky vegan bite to eat.

My platter was ready in minutes, so it’s a great place to grab something quick and convenient that it’s in a busy area. I wish I had opted for the jerk “chicken” instead of the seitan, which I wasn’t blown away by. I also felt the tomatoes were kind of bland despite their being in season. The white sauce was delicious and very nostalgic. And it was a little pricey even considering the location. Overall, a filling meal, and I would definitely try other menu options.

I ordered delivery from here many times and just went in-person today for the first time. The service is fast and food is delicious. There IS a (small) space where you can sit down to eat, metal barstools and a bar on each side of the room. Not luxurious, but it’s cute. Also NO BATHROOM.
