Worth the Wait!!! - Edit
The food at Vegan Mirai is delicious, beautiful and fresh. The owner, Chang is personable and charming. I just started a job a few blocks away from the Little Italy Farmers Market and look forward to Wednesdays and the mushroom tofu sushi roll. It is smoky and savory.

Very fresh vegan sushi - Edit
I was happily surprised to see Vegan Mirai at the Sunday La Jolla farmers market. I had enjoyed their sushi at the Hillcrest farmers market the previous year. I got there shortly before closing time, but the person was still busy preparing some orders. When I ordered the Omakase, he asked me if I liked spicy, and I said the spicier the better. I took it home and shared it. It was obvious that there had been great care in preparing it so it would look nice, and it was very good and fresh and perfectly spicy the way I like it. And since it is donation-based, the price didn't come as a shock.
Read moreI hope people keep buying and paying a fair price, because the notice on the stand explained all the costs involved in having a stand at the farmers markets around town and the supplies to make the sushi.
Pros: delicious, fresh, plantbased

Vegan Sushi at the Farmers Market - Edit
Stumbled upon this vegan sushi spot at the farmers market. Got the baked scallop roll. The chef was nice and I felt like my roll was made with care. Pay-what-you-can method. Will come back if I’m ever in Poway again and try one of the other rolls! You can also pick up tons of fresh produce and other vegan foods while at the farmers market.

Best Vegan Rolls - Edit
Mimicking everyone else's praises. We only had the chance to try the scallop roll while visiting San Diego. It was the best roll we have had! The presentation was beautiful and you can really see the time that goes into each roll's ingredients selection and creation. We will be back again!

INCREDIBLE - Edit
The most amazing vegan sushi I’ve ever had!! The baked skallop roll is on another level! He also does everything as donation based and is hoping to open a donation based restaurant, so everyone should support him so we can have his sushi every day!

Delicious Veg Focused Sushi - Edit
Sushi is one of my absolute favorite foods, and the vegan sushi scene in San Diego has seriously dwindled since I first moved here. However, Vegan Mirai is absolutely delicious and can be found at pop-ups and markets. I have never had a roll I do not like, but my favorites are (I cannot remember any of the names but will update next time I see a menu) their baked “scallop” roll and breakfast “egg” roll. I appreciate how they focus on veggies first and are creative with each roll. The owner, as well as someone else I have met a few times, are always very friendly as well.
Read moreAs a note, they are donation-based, so you pay what you can. However, their ultimate goal is to open a shop, which I think San Diego (or maybe I am just projecting) needs, so I love to support them.
