Delicious - Edit
I really enjoyed my dinner here, had wanton for starters and then mojo tofu. Both were excellent, the mojo tofu had many tasty ingredients and was a good portion. Friendly and helpful staff and good service, but a bit pricey.

Excellent food - Edit
The place is easy to get to via tram 11. I had the Beyond Pho and the VN Iced Coffee and both were great. The coffee in particular was sweet and had strong coffee flavour. The staff were also very kind. There is a lot of seating inside. Credit card is accepted but there is a surcharge, so it's better to bring cash.

Amazing food - Edit
I have been here twice now and it's already been cemented as one of my favourite vegan restaurants. I recently had the gravy claypot tofu w/rice (picture below) and my partner had the mixed pho. We both haven't stopped talking about it since. The broth was so flavourful and the portion size was very generous. The waiter was very friendly and it was very reasonably priced.

Another mock meat restaurant playing supreme master TV - Edit
Great to see another fully vegan restaurant pop up in Melbourne. Many of the menu items however contain ‘mock meat’, so check before you order for those who don’t like the idea of eating pretend animal body parts or corpse pieces, as it’s often not listed.
Read moreIt’s also off putting having supreme master TV playing in the background. Veganism is a secular movement and does not need to be associated with a religious cult or religious figures, especially those claiming to be ‘supreme masters’.
Pros: All vegan , Great location , Friendly staff
Cons: Supreme master TV , Mock meat +++, Cost

Criticising a vegan restaurant for serving mock meat is beyond ridiculous, get a life.

Truly a vegan heaven - Edit
Lots of different options. Have always liked Huong Viet despite how oily and greasy the food is, this place which is run by the same team is no different. I always get the bbq fried rice in claypot. Other dishes we got were salt and pepper mushroom, lemongrass noodle soup and sweet n sour pork, they were all pretty good. However despite going in towards the end of a Sunday with only 1 other group in the restaurant, we had to wait over an hr for our 4 dishes. Happy to cut them some slack as they are in a new location. Will definitely be back.

Extensive menu - Edit
Came with a big vegan group. They have changed the menu (no impossible burger on the menu). I really enjoyed the strawberry smoothie. Lovely consistency and flavour. The soup was delicious. It was huge and I really liked the broth.
Read moreWe came here for dinner on the first day of their opening. They have quite a lot of tables as it is a large dining area.
My partner wanted to try the wedges for an entree. They were served with a tasty sauce.
I ordered the tofu and “chick’n” Malaysian satay. The dish was huge and there were a generous number of tofu and “chick’n” pieces. There were also some mushrooms and broccoli and red pepper. I wished the satay was a little more “peanutty” but I enjoyed the dish. My partner had the meatballs with spaghetti which he enjoyed.
I also had a Vietnamese iced coffee which was lovely. The coffee was strong.
Service was good and opening week was 20% off.
There were noodles and stir fries and pho on the menu.

Good new spot in Melbourne - Edit
We ate here for our first time and we liked the friendly and helpful service and had a good experience. They’ve done a great job in making the restaurant space more light filled and welcoming.
Read moreThe menu is quite varied at the moment as they narrow down peoples’ favourites. We ordered the Singapore fried noodles and Royal Spicy soup. Both were excellent portion sizes with lots of flavour and a great variety of vegetables. The Singapore Noodles was on par with other vegan restaurants in Melbourne and I would order again. Pricing is reasonable too IMHO.
Pros: Portion sizes, Light filled space , Friendly service

Mostly tasty - Edit
I tried a couple of things - the seaweed rice was super tasty, but the pad Thai was very lack luster. Still, overall the service was good and the food was really tasty and not too expensive

Tasty meals and good service. I'm relieved another vegan restaurant has replaced Vegie Mum. We enjoyed all our meals and are keen to try the rest of the menu.

My new fave place! - Edit
It was great to see Vegie Mum's old location being replaced with an all-vegan restaurant. It has been completely remodelled and looks beautiful and open. Plenty of tables, booths and a cosy couch area.
Read moreI went here twice, once on Friday night with my partner and again Saturday with some friends. Here's what we ordered over both nights:
ENTREES
- Cripsy salt and pepper prawns - my fave!
- Cripsy salt and pepper fish - nice but not as good as the prawns
- Cripsy salt and pepper tofu - very nice, but my partner would have preferred the tofu in squares to give it a chance to crispy up more
- Chips - they were out of wedges so offered chips instead which were good.
MAINS
- Tom Yum Fried Rice - so delicious! Great sauce and I love the prawns
- Singapore noodles - very nice
- Seaweed Rice - excellent! Definitely lives up to its 'must try' status
- Stir Fried Soy Chicken Nugget with satay sauce - also excellent
- Pad Thai noodles - a lit underwhelming, would be good if it had peanuts on top and prawns which is typical of pad thai
- Tom Yum Flounder Sweet and Sour Fish - the most expensive item on the menu but I had to try as I adore vegan fish. It did not disappoint, absolutely beautiful. Really great sauce, some places overdo it with sweet and sour but this was perfect. It was also a generous serving so I had leftovers.
Very nice staff, definitely looking forward to coming back :)
Note: Some items used Impossible Foods which some vegans don't eat due to the animal testing, but this is noted on the menu.

Hello - look I agree with you. But lately a lot of vegans have told me they don't. Many consider it vegan. Personally I won't eat it but also trying to acknowledge the other viewpoint.

Their spring rolls were tasty, as was the spicy noodles. I wished there was a bit more vegetables/tofu/ingredients to the fried rice than what we got.

Meh! - Edit
This is the same location as the Old Veggie Mum. Started with cheese sticks. They were okay a little tough and oily. Pretty sure not house made but the kind you’d find frozen in the mock Asian mead sections at Asian supermarkets. Also had stir fried noodles with “special sauce”. The sauce was not special - your typical cornflour soy sauce thickened one. I got one piece of mock chicken and one piece of tofu. Was swimming in the sauce and there was a big puddle of sauce on the bottom of the bowl. Left hungry.
Read morePros: Big menu, Big space
Cons: Expensive , No love , Frozen mock meats/processed
