Delicious breakfast - Edit
Went here with my non-vegan brother for breakfast and we loved it! My brother lives nearby and he said he would definitely come back on his own for lunch, too which consider a huge compliment. We both got breakfast burritos and they were delicious. I do wish there was some kind of salsa option but the chipotle mayo was really tasty with it. It was very difficult to choose what to get because the whole menu sounds incredible. I was worried the food would be too heavy but there's a large selection of healthier looking options as well. And even the burritos were stuffed with fresh veggies which was a nice surprise. I also got a green smoothie (forget the name) with soy milk that was pretty nice

Breakfast hits the spot - Edit
I went there for the fried egg (probably Yo Egg) and it did not disappoint. I made my own platter with the sunny side up egg, toast, bacon, and tater tots. All were well made and delicious. Good toast for mopping the vegan egg yolk. Bacon was very crunchy (which I like, more like bacon chips). Tots were crispy. Excellent breakfast, wish I'd had time to try their other food. I was there when they opened at 9am and had the place to myself.

XLNT! A must! - Edit
Have been here 3x on our 12 day NY trip so far! I so appreciate the variety and that they are open for breakfast also. I’m gluten free and appreciate the many options. Me and my kids had many of the items (wraps, sandwiches, sides, smoothies, desserts). We mostly got it delivered which was awesome, and also went in to the restaurant one morning - not really amazing in-restaurant ambience. But it’s just fine for a casual experience and exceptional unique vegan!

Really good - Edit
Lots of options, and they’re good af. Overpriced with small portions, but to be expected for a Manhattan business. This is the only reason I took a star away. Charge a lot - but at least give me a ton of food.

A must !!! - Edit
We absolutely loved this place ! Vegan fried egg was the absolute bomb dig !! Would love to have ordered a fried egg on toast, yum. But really fancied french toast so got that with hash and we also got an omelette, i am not an omelette girl but the husband loved it, tasted just like egg, the french toast was perfection, maple, plenty of maple syrup. Got to say though guys the fried egg was the starrrrr ! We literally ordered one just on the side to try and wow, if you miss egg, then order order order !

Upper East Side needs this place - Edit
Hard to rate a restaurant on one meal, one entree but I never eat on the UES so I appreciate 5 stars worth that they are there. Had the Quinoa Bowl and it was good and filling. I’ll go back if I find myself in that neighborhood again.

The bowl was great, the crunchwrap was good. Place is cute. Food comes quickly. The bowls and cutlery were reusable, but they still have plenty of disposable plastic.

Tasty comfort food - Edit
I was skeptical about this place for a long time because they just don’t present themselves well. They have neither cute vegan restaurant vibes nor cool classic diner vibes. More like midtown nail salon vibes. But if you want comforting and delicious breakfast/brunch classics, Vegan Grill Diner brings it. Highlights were the tofu scramble (one of the best I’ve had in a long time) and the pancakes (soo tall and fluffy!) The just egg omelet was also outstanding. We enjoyed the fillings (veggies and seitan). We appreciate that Vegan Grill has options to really indulge (crunch wrap, nachos, burgers) as well as surprisingly healthy options (farro bowls, hummus and pita, Mediterranean platters).

Very friendly service - Edit
Fast food with quick and friendly service. I had the crunch-wrap supreme and my partner ordered the nacho burger. They accidentally got him a regular burger, so then brought out another (the correct one) later free of charge.

Filling comfort food - Edit
Great selection of comfort food with large portions. I would have like a better selection of burgers not just Impossible and Beyond - but the bowls were huge and the crunch wrap was delicious.

Tasty vegan junk food - Edit
It’s a really nice vegan junk food joint, however for a “fast food” it is a bit pricey, be ready to spend $15-$20! My favorite is their crunch-wrap! They also for most options they let you choose your meat (impossible, beyond etc) which is nice so you can customize to your preference! They also have some sweet options and smoothies which are pretty good!

Good quick vegan food - Edit
This is an order at the counter type place, which is good for a quick meal. Ordered the breakfast burrito with tofu and mushrooms & hash browns, thinking the hash browns were made in-house, alas it was a frozen packaged-type hash brown on the side (same ones sold at Trader Joe's), which was still good, but I was hoping for something more homemade. Also got the pancakes, which were very cakey and tasty, had a side of mock bacon which was very flavorful, but was crunchy like chips. Overall good portion sizes, we did not leave hungry. Would come back, with the expectation of more of a fast-food vibe, not diner style with wait staff.

Hot & fresh bites! - Edit
I ordered a bowl with cauliflower rice, edamame, kofta kebab, broccoli, avocado, and their house white sauce. I was happy to see that they gave me a whole half avocado as part of my 3 included vegetable options (no extra charge). You order at the counter, then wait. There are a few tables and the space is somewhat small. Clean, but not fancy. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my order, but it was hot & FRESH! The serving size was good and I felt sated and happy that I'd found something healthy & delicious to eat. It cost about $18, but I think that's typical for the area, so didn't think it was outrageous. I thought there were a somewhat large number of menu options, it took a while for me to decide on what I wanted.

Great but a bit pricy - Edit
The sandwich was actually incredible I loved it. The store was pretty dead when I got there but it was the middle of the day on a weekday and there's construction in their building rn so hopefully it's not always like this.
Read moreIt is pricy as I ended up paying $17.42 on a single burger after tax and everything but to be fair to them they didn't lie about the prices on the menu so whatever.
Would go again just not regularly.
The cashier was also very polite and sweet.

Fast and cute, fast but GOOD. - Edit
Having a vegan place that isn’t a fine dining experience and just takes the edge off cooking on a late night is what NYC (and many more) vegans lacked. Vegan Grill pulled through. Because while quick and delivery and to-go options encouraged, their dine in experience is still very cute and intimate. And if you choose the delivery/to-go route, you’ll be SO pleased. They’ve got all the dishes a vegan needs on a late night. All vegan Crunch wraps, tacos, burritos, milkshakes, breakfast items, burgers, chicken sandwiches, pastas. THANKS VEGAN GRILL. The vegans needed you!
